    1. 1910 – Born as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu on August 26 in Skopje, Ottoman Empire (now North Macedonia).
      1. 1928 – Moves to Ireland to join the Sisters of Loreto, taking her first religious vows.
      2. 1929 – Arrives in India as a missionary, beginning her lifelong work in Kolkata (then Calcutta).
      3. 1937 – Takes the name Mother Teresa after her final religious vows.
