    The triple alliance concluded Australia-Hungary, Germany, and Italy. It was a defensive alliance. All three parties promised to fight if they were attacked by any other two powers.

    This alliance included Britten, France and Russia. Not necessary a military agreement but an alliance of understanding. Originally France and Russia (Franco-Russian Alliance)

    Britten started a significant build up in military deafened including building dreadnoughts (militarism)
  • Annexation of Bosnia

    Marked a significant turning point in Balkan politics and created tension in the lead up to World War 1.
  • Germany invasion of Belgium

    European countries began to rapidly gain men to fight in the war. Russia had the largest army of 5 million men.
  • The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand

    This assassination was the final straw for the start of World War 1. This assassination included himself and his wife. The assassinator was a Serbian National named Gavrilo Princip.
