    In 1915, the German U-boats sinks a british passenger ship, The Lustiania. It sinks in 18 minutes and 1201 people, 128 of them are American. Woodrow Wilson sends 4 diplomatic protests to Germany because of it. This affected America since their supplies were being attacked even though they were neutral.

    Woodrow Wilson gets re-elected by the Americans. His campaign was based on the slogan "He kept us out the war." This kept America out the war for the time being.

    The British intercept a telegraph from Alfred Zimmerman in the German Foreign Office. It was sent to Mexico saying that, if they ally with Germany and the Central Powers in the war, Germany will assist Mexico in taking back land lost to America. This means that if Mexico joins the war, America could possibly lose a lot of land.

    At 5:10 am, in a railway car, the Germans sign a truce for 11 am. Fighting and stuff continues until precisely 11 am. The Germans fire off canons and barrages of artillery so that they can have the last shot of the war. This affected America because many soldiers died during the times leading to that hour. Now we have a moment of silence for those soldiers on 11/11 at 11 am

    A German delegation signs the Treaty of Versailles in, the Palace of Versailles in France. It formally ends the war. This makes America the most powerful political nation on Earth and destroyed most of Europe.
