    Germany engages in territorial aggression with various countries

    Hitler tried to engage in territorial aggression with different countries. This was known as Hitler's lebensraum. Through this he tried to get European countries/leaders to appease and do anything as long as war was avoided.

  • Germany Invades Poland. WW2 Begins!

    German forces bombarded Poland on both land and air as Hitler hoped to regain the territory he lost in WW1. This marked the start of World War 2 and left many countries shocked.

  • France and Great Britain Declare War on Germany

    Great Britain and France declared war on Germany on September 3rd, 1939 in response to their invasion of Poland. France, Britain, and Poland were allies so it was merely looking out for each other.

  • The Japanese attack the US Navy in Pearl Harbor. The next day the US enters World War II on the side of the Allies.

    The attack on Pearl Harbor sparked the start of Japanese Internment and the US's entry in WW2 because it left Americans paranoid and shocked.

  • D-day and the Normandy invasion. Allied forces invade France and push back the Germans.

    D-Day was the attack on Normandy Beach, France in which the allied powers invaded France and attacked the German forces. This was known as the largest seaborne attack.

    The Germans launch a large attack in the Battle of the Bulge. They lose to the Allies sealing the fate of the German army.

    The battle of the bulge was the last battle that the German forces basically fought because they would later be forced to surrender after the allied forces left them hopeless.

  • Japan surrenders to US General Douglass MacArthur and the Allies.

    Japan surrendered to the US after they lost all hope and after the atomic bomb was dropped.

    Two atomic bombs dropped by the US on 2 cities in Japan (timespan).

    The two atomic bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were dropped between August. This ended the suffering of millions of American soldiers and wrapped up the end of WW2.
