    The M1 Garand was the main service weapon of the US Army, replacing the bolt action Springfield in 1936. This weapon was know to give a lot of GI’s thumb injuries calling it the “Garand Thunb” due to the action of reloading the weapon and the thumb would get jammed in the receiving slot.
