An event in the War of 1812. William Hull a Michigan governor was in charge of commanding the American invasion of Canada. Hull proposed that they use they attack from the west, and use Fort Detroit as a base. When they arrived in Canada Hull's forces quickly realized their leader was not ready to invade. He ordered his men to go back to Fort Detroit as Hull slowly kept losing his nerve he gave up Fort Detroit with no fighting.

The American and British ships had their battle, with Perry's guidance the American ships began taking down the British ships and at nightfall, the British ships surrendered causing them to give up Detroit.

An event in the War of 1812. General William Henry Harrison led an army of 3,500 American troops, against approx. 1,300 British and Indian soldiers at Moraviantown, Ontario, Canada. The British soldiers retreated quickly, and the Indian warriors fought until their chief Tecumseh died on the battlefield. Tecumseh's death ended the chances of a Native American confederation and begin the Natives signing treaties giving the U.S. more land.

After Britain had defeated Neapolean they had more troops to play offense. Also, they had confidence form taking Washington. The British wanted Baltimore as they thought it would cause the Americans to call for peace. When the British arrived at Baltimore they were outnumbered 2 to 1. After realizing their situation the British army decided to take Fort McHenry. With only 1,000 men to Britans 5,000, the Americans came out victorious and waved their flag the next morning.

British General Edward Pakenham traveled to New Orleans with 8,000 men to take over. Andrew Jackson, an American general was ready for the attack with 4,700 men waiting in the "Line Jackson" for the attack. The Battle only last half an hour with American having a clean victory.

The election of 1824 is a complicated one. John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson, William H. Crawford, Henry Clay, and John Calhoun were all running under the Democratic-Republican Party. Calhoun and Clay both dropped in the middle of the election. The race became between Jackson and Adams with Adam being elected by the House of Representatives. Making Adams the sixth President of the United States.
