I was born!
I was born in Red Deer Alberta (where we have been our whole lives). Parents: James and Lena Willson -
Ashley & Friends - Pre-Kindergarten
I attended Ashley & Friends pre-kindergarten school. I loved going and had made friends easily. -
Normandeau School - Kindergarten
Normandeau School - Red Deer Public School. Mrs. Rechner was my teacher, and I remember her SO well. She was a very positive, caring role model who made me very confident going into grade 1 the following year. By this time my other two sisters were born. Jordanne who was born in 1993 and Nicole born in 1995. Chanelle, my older sister was born in 1990. Life at home played a large role as well, it was a very busy, but fun household. -
Normandeau School - Grade 1
Normandeau School (Red Deer Public School) - Grade Paige was my teacher. Who I remember quite well and have crossed paths with many times in the RDPSD. I really enjoyed going to school! -
Normandeau/St.Martin de Porres Elementary School - Grade 3
Half way through grade 3 I moved across town from Normandeau to Cronquist Drive. All 4 of us girls switched to the Red Deer Catholic School Division. Moving from Normandeau School to St.Martin de Porres - with Mrs. Pettie. I was very active - loved the outdoors, soccer and dance (which I did up until high-school). -
Camille J. Lerouge - Grade 7 - Middle School
I started Middle School! Camille J. Lerouge School. I had a great middle school experience - great friends, did well in classes and got along with my teachers. I stayed active outside class as well. I got my first bunny! -
Notre Dame - High-School
Notre Dame High-School. Again a very enjoyable experience. 85+ average, though enjoyed Math and Biology the most. Language Arts was always a struggle for me - which was similar to my other three sisters - LA was always are weakest subject. I flew to Hawaii for the first time. My first big trip without my family - as we had done a number of trips together before (Disneyland, Mexico, BC, Washington, Idaho, Montana etc (camping)). This is where my love for travel really began! -

I graduated from grade 12 and decided to follow in the footsteps of my aunty (moms sister) and become a Social Worker. I LOVED people, I loved helping, I loved listening, I loved stories and wanted to make a difference. -

I knew that after graduating I wanted to travel! So I took time off to work and do just that. -
Mattie McCullough Elementary School - Youth Empowerment Program
I got hired on at Mattie McCullough Elementary School. I created a 'Youth Empowerment Program' and worked with 20 students that the principal identified could benefit from some one on one, small groups and large group activities/sessions outside of the classroom. The program ran from September 2010 - January 2011, then I traveled to South East Asia on a solo backpacking trip. Travel/cultural experiences have played a huge role in who I am now, and who I will be as a teacher. -
Central Middle School - Ventures Program
I was hired on at Central Middle School - as an EA in the Ventures Behavioural Program. I worked in this program for two years, before switching positions, after the program was discontinued (there was a downtown program that had opened - now called Quest). -

After the Ventures Program ended I moved to Attendance/Support room (room 101) where I assisted students who were needing extra help, support, someone to talk to, or for an in-school suspension/discipline reasons. -
Glendale School - Resiliency Coach/Youth Worker
Once I graduated with my Social Work Degree I was hired on at Glendale School to run the Resiliency Program part time, while also acting in the role of school youth worker. I worked with families and students, did home visits and worked with community supports. During my year at Glendale I presented over 100 resiliency presentations to grades 6, 7 and 8 students. In june 2015 I decided to leave the school district and do my social media marketing full time for a year. -
Eastview Middle School
I was traveling and doing social media marketing for some time, and then came back to Red Deer in May of 2016. I subbed as an Educational Assistant within the RDPSD, and was hired at Eastview school for the month of June, before being asked if I wanted to stay and continue with them in the fall, in the in-school suspension room. I stayed at Eastview Middle School until June of 2017, as I had applied to go back to school to obtain an after degree in teaching, beginning in fall of 2017. -
University of Alberta/RDC Middle Years Collaborative Program
I was accepted into the University of Alberta/RDC Middle Years Collaborative Program and couldn't have been more excited to begin my journey towards becoming a teacher. While going to school I have continued to work as a social media marketer/influencer - blogging, doing photography and working with outdoor companies along with tourism board. This has been great when it comes to networking and life experience. I also got my dog - names Timber in February 2018. -
