It was sold for 17 years until it was discontinued in 1981. It was primarily designed by Steve Wozniak, whilst Steve Jobs mostly did the advertising. This was the same year Apple I computer was discontinued.

At this point, Apple had successfully sold Apple I and were successfully selling Apple II. They had also released many other pieces of technology like the Apple Silentype and the Disc II.

Apple III was the successor of the Apple II computer however, ut was called a failure in the market. It had similar features to the Apple II computer and that was one of the reasons it was considered a failure. It was discontinued in 1984.
