Mao Zedong lead the CCP and the Red Army on a 6,000 mile trek to set up a strong base in the northwest of China. Thousands die on the way, and at the end Mao Zedong is elected as Chairman of the CCP -
Japan invades
The Japanese quickly took over the eastern part of
China including the major cities Beijing and Nanjing. To defeat the Japanese,the Nationalists and the Communists agreed to join forces again. -
