Aboriginal relied on each other to supply resources that they needed for survival that they could not find in their own territory. The Barter system was used= Goods for goods. Goods were transported long distances. (modes of transportation snowshoes, canoes, walking) Example of valuable traded item: obsidian, black stone (used for tool sharpening) Trade could be used to build relationships, restore peace, pay war tributes, or formalize meetings between chiefs.
