The first flight occurred on February 9th 1969. The plane had to follow an intensive test programme before flying.

    Concorde first started being built in February 1965 and started flying in September of 1973. The capacity of the Concorde was 100 passengers and held up to 2.5 tonnes of cargo. The first time the aeroplane few was from Paris to Rio De Janeiro. Financial issues caused the aeroplane to stop operating in 2003.

The Channel Tunnel made a positive impact on the travel and tourism industry because it made it easier to travel to places and making the journey quicker.

    EasyJet first launched 1994 in London. EasyJets first flight was from Luton to Glasgow. EasyJet started with 130 passengers on board. EasyJet was founded by Sir Stelios Haji-Loannou to offer low fares flights in Europe. The impact EasyJet has made in the tourism industry was significant due to their affordable prices allowing more people around the UK to travel.

    In 2010 there were multiple volcanic eruptions in Iceland causing a huge cloud of ash that was extremely dangerous and caused chaos in the tourism industry. Planes could not fly through the ash as it was very intoxicating and could damage the aircrafts. This caused most of the airspace in Europe to close ending in less holidays and trips happening.
