Neil Papworth sent the first SMS text message using a computer. Papworth did not know he sent a text that could be a useful feature in cell phones in the future

First tablet comuter with wireless connection

AT&T introduced the AT&T EO Personal Communicator which was the first table with wireless connection via a cellular phone. The tablet featured wireless voice, email, and fax communication but did not sell a lot.

Cell phones offered mobile web for the first time. The cell phone was much faster and reliable. Cell phone were much smaller in size and had longer battery life.
