How many refugees can we successfully integrate?
The successful integration of refugees into a specific location, such as Kozani, depends on various factors. The current population in Kozani ia about 60,000 to 70,000 people. There isn't a fixed number for how many refugees can be integrated into Kozani without detailed planning and a clear understanding of the above factors. However, with proper support and resources, it is reasonable to say that Kozani could potentially integrate several hundred to a few thousand refugees over time. -
How can we accomodate the integrated refugees?
There are many ways that we can help with the accomodation for the refugees. First of all, any new housing should be, in my opinion, affordable for refugees, beacuse many of them have limited financial resources. Another idea is that we can build refugee camps. Those could be used to house new arrivals until longer-term housing can be arranged. These shelters would need to be equipped with basic amenities like food, water, sanitation, and healthcare services. -
What is the kind of entrepeneurship that can be developed?
In Kozani, entrepreneurship that supports both the refugee population and the local community in Kozani can take many forms. Key sectors that show promise include social services, hospitality, agriculture, craftsmanship, technology, and health. These not only address the needs of the refugees, but also contribute to the economic and cultural diversity of Kozani, offering opportunities for sustainable integration and growth. -
What are the potential benefits of our local community?

Are there any ways that our schools can help?
Ofcourse! There are many ways that we can support refugees. Our schools can organize programs that promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding between local students and refugees. Another thing we can do is to give them psychosocial support, beacuse many refugees come with trauma or stress related to their experiences. We can offer peer support to help students process their emotions and integrate more effectively into their new environment.
