First Whitechapel Murder
The first murder of Whitechapel was Mary Ann Nichols. She is known to be Jack the Ripper's first victim and was found at 3:40 am in Buck's Row Whitechapel. Her throat had been sliced twice and her abdomen had also been mutilated with numerous incisions. -
Leather Apron
From September 1st-4th, The police had begun questioning prostitutes about a character named the "leather Apron" who had been extorting money from them for the last 12 months. -
Second Whitechapel Murder
Annie Chapman was the second victim of Jack the Ripper. She was found at 6 am by Market porter, John Davis at the back yard of 29 Hanbury Street. Her throat had been sliced left to right and her intestines had been torn out of her abdomen and strung over her shoulders. Her uterus was also missing and it was believed she was strangled with a handkerchief. -
First Letter
The first letter Jack the Ripper sent to the police was sent about 3 weeks after the ripper's 2nd murder. The police believed the letter was a hoax and was known as the "Dear Boss" letter. at the end of the letter, Jack teases with the phrase "Good luck" is mentioned along with him talking about the sharpness of his knife and cutting off his next victim's ears. -
Fourth Whitechapel murder
Catherine Eddowes had been Jack the Ripper's fourth victim as she was found at 1:45 am the same night Elizabeth stride had been found. Her body was found on the Southwest corner of Mitre Square. Her throat was cut and her face had been significantly disfigured. Her abdomen had also been sliced with her intestines pulled out. Catharines Left kidney was removed ad nowhere to be found. This is the same kidney that Jack had preserved in wine and sent to Mr.Lusk who was investigating the case. -
Third Whitechapel murder
Jack the Ripper's third victim, Elizabeth Stride, was found at 1 am on Berner Street, off commercial road. She was found with blood still gushing from her neck wound suggesting she was killed just before the police had arrived. Her abdomen had also been sliced open. -
The Goulston Street Graffito
The Goulston Street Graffito was a sentence written on a wall beside a clue in the Whitechapel murders of 1888. It had been transcribed as "The Juwes are the men that will not be blamed for nothing". This quote was written in chalk on a wall near the crime scenes of Catherine eddowes and was found at 3 am along with a dirty, bloodstained piece of apron. -
Second letter
Jack the rippers sent another letter to the police station just one day after the double murder of Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes. This letter was known as the "Saucy Jacky" postcard. The handwriting was very similar to the first letter and recalled details that only Jack the Ripper would know. At the end of the letter, Jack signed his name proving to the officers and investigators that he is the one writing the letters. -
Third letter
Once again another letter was sent to the police station but this letter was different. This letter was thought to be intended for one of the witnesses who had given his description to the station. After days of research, they found the letter may be hoax. The letter was a threat to the witness to keep their mouth shut. At the end of the letter, Jack stated " I know your address " to scare the witness and make sure they don't say anything else. -
Letter "From Hell"
Jack's "letter from hell" was sent to Mr. George Lusk on October 16th, 1888. The letter contained half a kidney that was believed to be Catherine eddowes as she had a missing kidney when she was found. -
Fifth whitechapel Murder
Mary Jane Kelly, who was recently evicted from her home from missed payments, was found at 10:45 am in her room at the lodging facility she had been staying at. Mary Janes's abdomen had been sliced open, her skin was removed, her intestines and organs had been removed, her thighs were skinned and her breasts chopped off. She had a number of jagged wounds in her arms. -
Mary Jane Kelly's Crime Scene
When it came to Mary Jane, Jack had a very particular way in positioning her. Mary Jane had been completely skinned and on the parts of her arms and legs that weren't skinned, she had jagged cut marks. Kelly's uterus, kidney's and one breast were placed under her head like a pillow. the other breast lay at her feet along with her liver. The spleen was placed on the left side of her body and the intestines on the right. The flaps of skin on her thighs and abdomen were laid on the table. -
Grave Sites
Mary ann is buried in the city of London cemetery, number 210752. Annie Chapman's funeral was a secret, the exact grave location is unknown as it no longer exists today. Elizabeth Stride was buried at east London cemetery, number 15509 sq 37. Cathrine Eddowes was buried in the city of London cemetery, number 49336 sq 18, she has since been moved. Mary Jane was buried at st. patricks roman catholic cemetery, her grave was plot 10, number 66, row 66. -
Jack the Ripper Museum
The Jack The Ripper museum opened in August of 2015. The museum was at first supposed to be the first women's museum in the UK. There was quite an uproar in the city of London when the museum decided to be for Jack The Ripper rather than the women. The museum opened on Cable Street in the East End of London. -
Identification
Due to new DNA testing in late 2019, Jack the Ripper is most likely a hairdresser who immigrated from Poland, known as Aaron Kominski. Records show he was arrested and attained in a workhouse in the 1890s and was relocated to an asylum and had to be moved to another after that. Kominski was low profile but showed signs of hatred for women and homicidal tendencies.
