Marathon Infinity includes larger and more complex levels than its predecessors. Due to time and space warpings caused by W'rkncacnter, an eldritch abomination, the story explores different timelines and realities. The sprites and world textures are more detailed in this game. New features include a gun that works underwater, new human allies with fusion rifles, improved fluid mechanics and non linear level progression. -
The Engine of the Marathon Games becomes Open-Sourced
This allowed for the games to be ported to modern Windows and Mac OS versions. Aleph one uses this as the base for its emulator that is now the primary way to play the Marathon games. The main change is reducing the space that the layout occupies. Now only the radar and ammo can be seen.
