He was born in Brookline, Massachussetts. His parants were Joseph P. Kennedy, a wealthy business man, and his mother was Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy who was the daughter of the mayor.

He went to school at Choate School in Connecticut, and then he went to college at Harvard and graduated in 1940 despite being sick often. He spent 1937 and 1938 traveling Europe, and was even able to spend the spring of 1939 in Britain while his father was the United Stated Ambassador.

JFK hurt badly, but is able to reascue people and swim for help. He was awarded the Navy and US Marine Corps medal for his actions. He is later discharged from the Navy as a lieutanent because of his back injury.

John F. Kennedy proposed the Civil Rights Act. The act was supposed to end discrimination against race, ethnicity, and religion. The first act of the bill grantees voting rights, and the second act prohibits discrimination in public areas. Act seven prohibits discrimination by trade unions, schools, and employers. But before the law was passed, Kennedy was killed. Lyndon B. Johnson is the president that actually passed the act.
