    Most of the people who knew about the expedition or had reletives that were going on it didn't believe they would make it back home. This is also the beginning of their 2 year long journey.

    The prarie dog was named because Clark observed that it yipped and barked like a dog, but it lived on a prarie.

    The Shoshones go on part of the expedition with them, letting them use the horses.

  • With the current of Missouri behind them, they are able to cover over 70 miles per day. The expedition also begins meeting boats of American traders heading upriver.
