The crusades were a seriers of religious wars between the catholics and the muslims. These wars were over the holy land. Which is Jerusalem, not much was accomplished during these wars. This is important because the crusades had many gains and impacts on the Middle Ages.

The Black Plague was the plague of the 1300's. This plague wiped out 2.5 million people and killed 1/3 of the population. People believed it was a punishment from God. This is important because it is a time of huge death, loss, and tribulation during the Middle Ages.

In the early1500's a monk named Martin Luther began to question the Roman Catholic Church. He decided to writre 95 points where the Bible and the church did not meet up. Soon after, he posted them on the church door. This was important because it changed the view and history on the Roman Catholic Church. Also because it started the Reformation.

Hernan Cortex was a man who came to Mexico to find gold. The leader of the Aztecs thought that he was a God. Cortez took advantage and took over the Aztec Empire. He also brought disease to the Empire. This is important because it marks the fall of the Aztecs, a very cruel empire.

Soon after Martin Luther posted the 95 theses, the Pope threatened to kick him out the church. This meant he would be an outsider to the rest of society. This is important to our history because it was what started off the reformation.

The Boston Massacre took place during a riot. Five British soldiers opened fire on innocent colonists. This was an accident but it still 1/2 of the soldiers guilty of manslaughter. This is important because it is part of the revolution, and because this later lead to U.S becoming independent.

The Tea Act was when the British government (Parliament) put a taxes on tea. This is one of the acts that made the colonists angry. This is important because it lead to Parliament removing the taxes and it is part of the Road to Revolution.

Thomas Paine wrote common sense to increase the morale of the soldiers during the revolutionary war. This is important because it helped change the mind of many American's to split from Britian and become independent.

George Washington along with his soldiers were stuck in Valley Forge during a time of war in the winter. This was a very tragic time during the war. Many soldiers died of smallpox and many got frostbite. This is important because it's part of the revoultionary war and our fight against the British. Also because this was one big thing that showed how good of a commander George Washington was.

The treaty of Paris ended the Revolutionary War between the thirteen colonies and Britian. This granted our independence. This is very important because with the war being over and we won, we were granted our independence.

The War of 1812 began in June of 1812. This was once again the war between the U.S and Britian. This was caused by Britian's attempt to restrict U.S trade. This is important because it was partly led by Andrew Jackson, which helped him later to become our 9th president.

This is important because it caused people to be more cautious while on the trail and it showed how dangerous the trail could really be.

The fugitive slave law was that all citizens were required to return runaway slaves and were fined and throw in jail if they aided a slave. This was important because it helped out southerns and angered northerns.

John Brown and his seven sons tried to rob an arsenal. The plan was to get as much guns as possible, give them to the slaves, and them fight against the south. This ended in a horrific way. Only John and one of his sons lived. They were later hanged. This was important because southerns began to think all northerns were liek Brown, crazy and violent.

Lincoln's assassination took place at Ford's Theater in 1865. A man named John Booth came up to where Lincoln was sitting, and shot him in the back of the head. The man then jumped off the balcony and fleed from the theater. This is important because a famous president and war hero was taken out. This was major news for the world at the time.
