The Start
Vladimir Putin was born in Leningrad, which is now named St. Petersburg, Russia in modern history. He was an only child of his father, a foreman in a metal factory, and his mother, a homemaker. Putin lived with his parents in an apartment with two other families.

Graduation and Career
Vladimir Putin graduated from Leningrad University in the law department, but instead of entering in the law field right after graduating, Putin got a job at the KGB, the only one in his class who was accepted out of a hundred. Putin gets married
Putin met and married his wife, Lyudmilla, a former teacher of English and French.
She was born January 6, 1958 in Kalingrad, Soviet Union. She also graduated from Leningrad State University. They have two children together, Mariya and Yekatirina. Both her and her and her husband belong to Russian Orthodox faith. She was converted after almost dying in a car accident.

Dresden, East Germany
The KGB sent Putin to Dresden, East Germany, where he lived undercover as Mr. Adamov, the director of the Soviet-German House of Friendship, a social and cultural club.
