Primrose Everdeen is chosen to be the Female Tribute from District #12. She is only 12 years old. Her older sister, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to go in her place. Peeta Mellark is chosen as the Male tribute. All Hunger Game proceedings are televised!

Katniss and Peeta go to the Capitol and are assigned Mentors, trainers, and beauticians to help them prepare for the PR, mental and physical aspects of the Games. They eat the most fabulous food and take luxurious baths. Then they are given beautiful clothes and uniforms to wear.

Katniss thinks it is a political move to get favors from sponsors.

He also gives Katniss a mockingjay pin that she wears in defiance of the Capitol.

Haymitch gets drunk and falls off of the stage. He drinks all the time. Finally, Peeta and Katniss get him to agree not to drink and to help them.

When a tracker Jacker nest is found, they use it to kill some other tributes. Katniss gets the bows and arrows and Rue teaches her the mockingjay song. Katniss had seen Peeta with some of the other tributes but he does not come back when the others do.

Haymitch tried to warn Katniss not to go after the bow and arrow but she tries anyway. She does get a backpack with supplies.

Rue warns Katniss with her Mockingjay call, but she is found and killed. Katniss gives her a makeshift funeral and sings the song that Rue taught her.

Thresh lets Katniss live because of her funeral for his friend, Rue.

The Capitol announce that two tributes can live this year. Katniss sets out to find Peeta. She finds him hiding in the mud, camolouged and nurses him back to health. Peeta Kisses Katniss

Katniss and Peeta have to fight off Muttations of dead tributes.

Katniss and Peeta are the last tributes left, but then the Capitol changes the rules and they now have to kill each other. They decide to eat poisonous berries and kill themselves instead. They are allowed to live and become dual winners of the Hunger Games.

Katniss and Peeta defied the Capitol and will now face certain consequences. Peeta learns that Katniss doesn't love him as much as he thought.

She also sees Gale again and is confused by her love for Gale and her love for Peeta.

Earth is destroyed by a global disaster. Few beings survive. Some humans survive and try to start over.
