THE BEGINNING-BIRTH

Normal uncomplicated birth-7lbs, 4 oz; 11;58 p.m

THE FIRST 2 YEARS

Started mumbling "da" "da", at 5 months

Started crawling, trying to keep up with my brothers and sisters

Took my first steps and never looked back

Started talking, a lot of single words, like bird, dog, bike, toy

I can potty by myself now!

Received my Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, which I became attached to and still have today!

Having a problem with tantrums and getting my way.

THE PLAY YEARS

Received my first bike and it had training wheels on it.

Rode my bike in the street and received my first full spanking

Started pre-school-very apprehensive about being left alone with strangers.

I have adjusted to being with other kids and is having fun learning to color, playing, listening to stories and learning the abc song.

Started kindergarten, excited about being in the "big" people school, no more nap time. I'm at Doty Elementary School

My mom took me with her to open my very own bank account.

I can home to my new bedroom set made for a princess-it was white trimmed in gold with a canopy bed and all the matching pieces. Wow!

I was tall for my age, but chunky so my mom put me in Modern Dance Class

THE SCHOOL YEARS

My mom quit the post office to stay at home per my dad's request

My annual physical exam with immunization- I hated these!

My 1st sleep over with my 1st best friends- Tonawanda and Bethanny

Got in trouble with my parents for talking with best friends in school-1st punishment, no T.V for 2 days (my parents had a authoritarian parenting style)

School is out and summer is here-outside with neighborhood friends playing frisbee, hopscotch, hands up to 85 , double dutch jump roping and football

Started summer camp at the YMCA where I went on trips, swimming, and play basketball

Started 5th grade, my last year of elementary school

Got pushed down some stairs at school and broke my rt. leg, had a cast on from hip thigh to toes. Had to be homeschooled by a teacher sent by DPS

Went on senior trip to Washington D.C. My sister Teresa went with me, still had my cast on.

Got my cast off, started physical therapy. Had problems walking, felt funny without cast on

Last session with homeschool teacher. Did pretty good. going back to school with an "A" average.

Returned to school with only a few weeks left before I graduate. Gained a little weight from my inactivity

Graduated from elementary school-5th grade

My dad's mom died, my family went to Georgia for the funeral

Adolescence

My dad retired from Ford Motor Company, they gave him a retirement party and a beautiful watch

Wow, received my first social security check from my dad's retirement. My mom put some in my bank account and gave me some to shop with.

Puberty began

Went to Camp Burt Shurly where I met my friend Lisa, who later became my best friend.

1st day at Hutchins Middle School-grade 6th. Now i have several teachers and move from class to class. Mr. Hugle is my homeroom and science teacher. My best friends Tonanwanda and Bethanny went to a different school.

I joined the Academic Games Club. My first competitive club.

Begain modern dance again.

I won first prize at the Science fair and got a purple ribbon. Yeah me! Volcano eruption with help from my dad and brothers.

1st day of 8th grade, my last year in middle school. Some of the girls are wearing eyeliner and lipstick. I think I'm going to sneak and wear some. My parents will kill me, they have moved from the authoritarian style into the authoritative style of paren

I have my first boyfriend, Dorian. Were in the same class and have academic games together. We eat lunch together and talk on the phone. I also had my first kiss.

I started Northern High School. My best friend Lisa also goes here as well.

My 1st day in Ms. HIllman's modern dance class in leotard. Very self-conscious because boys are standing in the doorway watching.

Joined the Debate Team. My brother traveled all over and won many trophies, so i figured i'd try my hand at it.

My first Debate competition and i didn't do to bad. I held my own. Argument: Should paddling be allowed in school again.

X-mas, got a pair of tall Gucci boots , a red Coach duffle bag, Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, Calvin jeans, Jordache jeans and Sassoon jeans. All the popular clothes . I can't wait until school starts in Jan.

Started hanging at lunch with a group of boys called the "Zoo Crew". All innocent, but of course they wanted more.

Went to Florida (Oscala), for the summer to stay with my aunt and babysit my cousin. Great house with a pool!

Skipped school with a girl friend, who said her mom wasn't home. Mother was home so we went to the basement of an apartment bldg. where the friend's brother and his friend attempted to rape me while she watched. I fought and screamed until a man from upst

Started having lunch at school in my sewing teacher's room to avoid my attackers until summer break when they graduated.

Got my driver's license

Started drivers training in school.

Lisa and I started to grow apart. She got pregnant.

Graduated from high school. Going to M.S.U for a couple of days to attend orientation. Met a new friend Stephanie (who is still my friend today. Going to State in the fall.

Emerging Adulthood

Moved into M.S.U, now living on my own and a little scared.

Oh my god! Emily and Beth- my roomates from hell or should i say Rochester. Three females in a room. Got to get out of there!

Met Delano from Muskegon, who turned out to be a stalker/fatal attraction, who i started avoiding. Just pops up when he wants to! Really?

Met Liana from the U.P who was unhappy with her roomate, me too, so we moved in together. Cool at first until she started disrespecting my space, clothing , washing powder, etc.

Found a rascist letter written by Liana about me. I read it and took it to my RD.

Sibling weekend, my two neices came up to visit and by the end of the weekend Liana moved out and i had a single room.

Pledged my sorority, one of the hardest things I ever had to do!

Went back to school for my sophmore year

Informed by my parents that I would not be attending M.S.U that fall, because they needed their money for "old age" and they wanted me to attend an Lpn program, so that I could pay for my schooling.

Took the test for Lpn school, passed, will start school in January.

Started job at Beaumont Hospital in housekeeping- part time. Worked there on the weekends while in school as well.

Started Lpn school for one year, full-time (Mon-Fri, 7 am to 4:30 p.m)

Met new boyfriend Stan the Man, who graduated in the nursing class before me.

Broke up with Stan, because i fell for Edward, who later became my husband.

Graduated from nursing school, got my temporary license.

Started a job at The Detroit Heart Institute inside of Detroit Osteophathic Hospital.

Took the test for Licensure.

Passed my test, got my Lpn license

Gave birth to my son Keenan.

Married my husband in the Pocanos Resort in Pennsylvania with a few friends and our parents present.

Bought my first house

Adulthood.

Quit D.O. H-went to work as a pool nurse, working on the weekends only, so my husband could be there to watch the kids.

Took our first cruise (mexican rivera), courtesy of my mother-in-law it was great. Keenan and Justice loved it and being with grandma Myrtis and her boyfriend Moses!

My husband's mom Myrtis died from lung cancer

Had a New Year's Eve party to celebrate the impending Y2k millennium. Just about everyone that I loved was there in case an apocalyse occurred, we would all be together. By the way i stocked up on can foods, water, candles, light sticks, batteries, etc.

Started taking pre-req classes for the RN nursing program

Took a wound care position at a sub-acute/long-term care facility

My dad fell, broke his hip and would never walk again, from fear. My sisters and neices (who area all nurses, Rns and Lpns) took care of him at home until he passed.

Switched to a Clinical care coordinator position to explore a different area of nursing

My brother Nate died in his house alone from an epiletic attack.
-
We found out my mom had Stg IV Throat Ca. Chemo. to start soon. My mom decided with the family that she didn't want surgery to remove her "voice box" life expectancy three months.

Mom finished with Chemo. and it was pretty successful. Helped to prolong her quality of life.

I took a Clinical care coordinator position over a 45-bed Dementia/lock unit.

My dad passed.

My 40th birthday.

My brother Wesley died from liver ca.

I started pre-req. classes at S.C.C with a goal of attending Monroe Community Colleg online LPN to RN program

Mom went into the hospital for dehydation/aspiration pneumonia.

My son moved out, because he felt that restrictions were to much for him. Decided he didn't want to go to the military as we had all planned.

Mom is getting weaker and confused, states she's tired and wants to see daddy.

My daughter will graduate from high school.

I will graduate from nsg. school, take the boards and obtain my RN licensure.

I will relocate to a southern state.

I find a nursing teaching job as an instructor, but I'm waiting for a professor position, full tenor.

My daughter will graduate from a nurse anesthesia program

I'm 50 years old, healthy, and in shape.

My daughter announces plan to marry, we start planning immediately for next year.

My daughter gets married to a wonderful man with a wonderful career.

My 60th birthday is here, i still look great and healthy. Taking no meds, other than an aspiring a day. I have four grand children. Two from my son and two from my daughter, life is great. I'm traveling regularly, teaching full-time and enoying my grand c

Late Adulthood.

My 70th birthday, i love teaching and my mind is still sharp as ever. People have been asking me when am I retiring. I'm not sure maybe a couple more years. My grand kids come on vacation to visit and we have a ball.

My last day of teaching.I'm officially retired. My colleagues gave me a wonderful retirement party. I'm going to miss it all.
