Lady Capulet tells Juliet that Paris wants to marry her. Juliet is not ready to be married, but she agrees to meet Paris at the Capulet party and let him flirt with her because she knows that is what her parents want. -

Romeo and Juliet meet at the Capulet party and kiss. They fall in love instantly. They later find out that their families are enemies, but it is too late. -

The Montague family and the Capulet family have been feuding for generations. After a fight breaking out between members of these families for the third time in the streets of Verona, Prince Escalus annouces that anyone caught fighting will be sentanced to death. -

Romeo Montague loves Rosaline, but she does not love him back. Romeo is extremely depressed about this. When Romeo's friends hear about the Capulet party being held later that night, they convince him to go so he can meet a girl better than Rosaline. He agrees to go, but not to meet another girl. -

Romeo and his friends hear about the Capulet party. Romeo's friends know he is depressed so they convince him to come to the party with them so he can find a girl better than Rosaline. Romeo agrees to go, but not to look for another girl. -
Romeo and Juliet exchange vows of love
Romeo sneaks into the Capulet orchard and overhears Juliet talking about him. He makes his presence known and he and Juliet exchange vows of love. Juliet tells him that she will send someone for him the next day, Monday, to arrange their marriage. -

Romeo and Juliet get married
Romeo and Juliet get married secretly in Friar Laurance's cell with the help of Juliet's nurse. -
Tybalt challenges Romeo to a fight
Tybalt is still angry at Romeo for showing up at the Capulet party, but Romeo refuses to fight him because they are family now. Mercutio does not understand this, so he steps up to fight Tybalt. -
Romeo is banished
The Prince banishes Romeo to Mantua. -
Mercutio is killed
Romeo tries to stop the fight between Mercutio and Tybalt and Mercutio gets killed in the process. -
Tybalt is killed
Angered by his friends death, Romeo kills Tybalt. He then flees the scene. -
Juliet is informed that Romeo has been banished
Juliet's nurse informs her that Romeo has been banished to Mantua for killing Tybalt. At first, Juliet is angry at Romeo, but then she realizes he could have been killed by Tybalt. Juliet is so upset by Romeo's banishment that she wants to die. -
Romeo and Juliet spend the night together
The nurse arranges for Romeo and Juliet to spend one last night together before he is banished. Romeo leaves early in the morning. -
Juliet is told that she has to marry Paris
Lady Capulet tells Juliet that she must marry Paris this Thursday. When Juliet refuses, she gets in an arguement with her father. She turns to her nurse for comfort, but her nurse tells her to forget about Romeo. -
Juliet visits Friar Laurance
Distraught, Juliet goes to Friar Laurance for help. He gives her a potion to make her appear dead for 48 hours. He tells her to take it on her wedding night, so she will be taken to Capulet monument. He will send a letter to Romeo informing him of their plan and then when Juliet wakes up, she and and Romeo can escape to Mantua together. -
Juliet apologizes to her father
Juliet apologizes to her father and agrees to marry Paris. Overjoyed, Lord Capulet moves the wedding up to Wednesday. -
Juliet takes the potion
Juliet goes up to her bedroom for the night and after a moment of debating, takes the potion Friar Laurance gave her. -
The nurse finds Juliet's body
The nurse tries to wake up Juliet for her wedding, but finds her seemingly dead body. Friar Laurance arrives and tells the Capulets to prepare Juliet for her funeral by taking her to the Capulet monument. -
Romeo hears of Juliet's death
Balthasar hears of Juliet's death and travels to Mantua to tell him the news. Romeo decides he does not want to live without Juliet, so he buys poisen from a poor apothicary. He plans to travel to Verona and lie with Juliet. -
Friar Laurance is informed that Romeo did not recieve the letter
Friar John tells Friar Laurance that Romeo did not receive the letter explaining Juliet's plan. Worried about the possible concequences, the Friar writes to Romeo again and then goes directly to the monument of Capulets. -
Juliet awakens and kills herself
Just as Friar Laurance gets to the tomb, Juliet awakens and finds Romeo and Paris dead. The Friar tries to comfort her, but gets scared when he hears a noise outside the tomb and runs away. Juliet stabs herself with Romeo's dagger. -
The bodies are found
The page and watchmen get back to find all three bodies. Lord and Lady Capulet, Lord Montague and the Prince later arrive. Friar Laurance explains everything - the lovers secret marriage, Juliet's plan and everything that went wrong. -
Paris goes to visit Juliet's body
Paris goes to the monument of Capulets with his page to put flowers on Juliet's grave. Here he encounters Romeo and they fight. The page runs to get the watchmen. -
Paris is killed
Romeo kills Paris in their fight. -
Romeo kills himself
Romeo then takes the poisen he bought and dies. -
The families end their feud
Lord Montague and Capulet realize that their feud was the cause of their children's death and shake hands. The age old feud is over.
