ACT I
Juliet is engaged with Paris. Romeo, in disguise, goes to a party thrown by the Capulets (his family's enemies) and meets Juliet. He falls in love and forgets about Rosaline (a woman who does not pay attention to Romeo). Juliet also falls in love with him. -
Scene l
The Montages and the Capulets start fighting in the street. Romeo tells Benvolio he is in love with Rosaline, a beautiful lady who takes no notice of him. Benvolio tells him he knows how to make him forget her. -
Scene ll
Lord Capulet and Paris talk about engaging Juliet with Paris. Her father will let her decide in a party the Capulets are throwing that night. Romeo and Benvolio find out and plan to sneak in the party. -
Scene lll
Juliet and Lady Capulet talk about marriage although she is not really excited. A servant enters the room to tell Lady Capulet the guests have arrived to the party. -
Scene lV
Romeo, Benvolio and Mercurio discuss if entering to the party. Romeo does not want to go even though Benvolio and Mercurio push him to. -
Scene V
No sooner had Romeo noticed Juliet dancing, he fell in love. Tybalt noticed that Romeo was a Montague and Lord Capulet asks him what's wrong. Tybalt tells him but Lod Montages calms him down telling him to leave Romeo alone. Meanwhile, Romeo starts getting closer to Juliet. -
ACT II
Romeo confesses his love to Juliet and she does the same. They both agree to get married as soon as possible. They go to the Friar Laurence and ask him to marry them. In scene 5, they get married. -
Scene l
Benvolio and Mercutio start looking for Romeo, who is hiding. Juliet finds out he is hiding and asks him if he loves her. They both want to marry, although they come from enemy families. So they decide to go secretly to the Friar Laurence to get married. -
Scene ll
Romeo goes to the Friar Laurence and tells him everything. The Friar agrees to help him -
Scene lll
The Nurse tells Romeo not to play with Juliet's feelings. Romeo tells her not to worry. He asks her to tell Juliet to come to the church and hands her some money. The nurse accepts to help him. -
Scene lV
The Nurse talks with Juliet. She accepts and goes to church to get married. -
Scene lV
Friar Laurence is slightly afraid of being discovered. He takes both Romeo and Juliet into the church to marry them. -
Scene lll
Romeo heads to Friar Laurence. The Friar tells him the news and he is discouraged. The Nurse entered and between the three, they devise a plan to get Romeo with Juliet again. -
Scene IV
Lord Capulet offers Paris to marry his daughter. The wedding is planned for Thursday. The Lord asks his wife to prepare Juliet for the wedding day. -
Scene V
Juliet said goodbye to his husband just when her mother came in. They both talk about the wedding. Juliet does not want to marry him. His father enters the room and gets angry with her. She is forced to marry Paris. -
ACT III
Tybalt challenges Romeo to fight. He refuses so Tybalt fights Mercutio. Accidentally, he is killed while Romeo tried to intervene. Full of anger, Romeo kills Tybalt and is vanished by the prince. Juliet finds out and refuse to believe he is a murderer. -
Scene l
Tybalt and Mercutio start arguing. Romeo appears and says he does not want to fight Tybalt. Since Tybalt wanted to fight, he fought Mercutio, killing him on the spot. Desperate for revenge, Romeo kills Tybalt. He is vanished by the prince from Verona. -
scene ll
The Nurse tells Juliet the bad news. Juliet wouldn't believe her hisband would be a murderer. -
ACT IV
Juliet visits Friar Laurence because she does not want to marry Paris. He tries to help her. Meanwhile, the wedding day is getting closer and closer. -
Scene ll
Juliet does as said. She seemed happy to marry Paris. Lord and Lady Capulets start preparing the wedding. -
Scene lll
Juliet drinks what Friar Laurence gave her. She hopes this idea works. -
Scene l
Friar Laurence has an idea. He will give Juliet a bottle with poison in which she will look as if she was dead for 48 hours. Meanwhile the Friar will send a letter to Romeo pleading him to come back. -
Scene lV
When the Nurse goes to wake up Juliet, she doesn't move. Lord and Lady Capulet enter the bedroom to see the body of her daughter lying 'dead' in her bed. -
ACT V
The message the Friar Laurence sent did not arrive on time to Romeo. He heard from a servant that Juliet was dead. He buys poison from the apothecary and poisons himself. Juliet wakes up and is told the news by the Friar Laurence and stabs herself. Both families, the Capulets and the Montagues, make peace. That is the end of the story. -
Scene l
Romeo is told by Balthasar that Juliet is dead. He felted overwhelmed with sadness. He went to the apothecary and bought poison. He will drink it in Juliet's grave. -
Scene ll
Friar John couldn't give the letter to Romeo due to a plague. The plan is not going as expected. Juliet is about to wake up. -
Scene lll
Romeo gets to the Vault and fights Paris. Juliet smells the poison Romeo was going to kill himself with. She thought he was already dead so she grabbed his dagger and stabbed herself with it, dying instantly. Romeo had killed Paris and himself after. Both families meet in the vault and make peace, deciding not to fight ever again.
