  • Birth of Gilbert Bourdin

    Bourdin is born in Martinique.
  • The Inspiration

    Bourdin travels to Rishikesh and is influenced by an Indian Guru - Swami Sivananda Sarasvati. This marks the beginning of his spiritual journey where Bourdin would practice multiple religions.
  • Vaucluse

    Bourdin travels to a department in France. He spends his winter within a cave teaching his first disciples about yoga.
  • Association of the Knights of the Golden Lotus

    Bourdin founded the Association of the Knights of the Golden Lotus, which later became the Association of the Triumphant Vajra
  • Mandarom Shambhasalem

    This holy City was founded about 50 kilometers northwest of Cannes, a city within the French Riviera
  • Ashram of Mandarom

    Bourdin founded the Ashram of Mandarom, a spiritual hermitage/monastery in Indian religions.
  • Aumism Foundation

    Gilbert Bourdin alongside 400 members found Aumism and reside within the "Holy City" of Mandarom.
  • Temple Recreation

    Between the timeframe of 1977 and 1990, Bourdin progressively created numerous temples. Not only this, but he created 20+ meter statues of Buddha Maitreya, "Cosmic Christ," etc.
  • Ceremonial Foundation

    Bourdin was crowned as the "Cosmoplanetary Messiah" at a ceremony years after the original foundation of the Aumist Movement.
  • Bourdin's Burial

    Bourdin has died and his body was prohibited from being buried in Mandarom due to the French Government. His body was buried in another department, Grasse, but its mayor vetoed his buriel as well. Ultimately, he was buried in a small cemetery in Castellane.
  • Fall of Bourdin's Statue

    In June of 2000, the legitimacy of his building permit was challenged. Later on, a statue of himself was deemed illegal. A year later, itr was demolished by authorities on the 6th of September, 2001.
