David Bloor became a lead influence within the Strong Programme. The group sought to provide evidence and explanation for theories in the manner of scientific investigation. "Knowledge is simply the collection of beliefs that people confidently hold and have been invested with authority by particular institutions" (David Bloor). -
Bloor was awarded his PhD by the University of Edinburgh for his thesis, Speech and Regulation of Behavior. Link text It was found that verbalization and physical motion were two separate entities in regards to brain capacity. One did not appear to affect the capability to control the other.

Bloor is considered a driving force in establishing a widespread rejection of pseudoscience in the methodology of the development of theories. He instead supported the idea that justifiable truth should be the product of scientific processes as opposed to sociological beliefs.
