Penal Laws
After the Reformation it was the Protestants who had the power in Britain, even though the majority were Catholics, especially in Ireland. Therefore, the Penal laws was imposed. -
Oliver Cromwell
Oliver Cromwell was in the British military and a political leader in the government. Later on he became head-of-state with the title Lord Protector in Ireland, Scotland and England on December 3th 1653 until his death in 1658.
