Catherine Howard was executed on Monday, February. When hearing news of Catherine's execution, Francis I of France wrote a letter to Henry about the evil within her. This was important because england was going to need some new democracies and people running the show. -

Ivan IV was a young king, and he needed a young queen to rule with him. Anastasia Romanov was the fit for him. She was a young girl of the Romanov family. Philip II of Spain put spain in great turmoil and bankruptcy. Charles V left Philip in great debt- 36 million dollars. Philip had to make many loans to get his money he needed. In 1557, the country was bankrupt. This was signifigant because it would be bankrupt 4 more times after this event, which would eliminate Spain in global power. -

King Henry II of France killed
King Henry was celebrating a wedding, and a shaft of a lance hit him in his eye. The surgeon at the palace removed the fragment, but Henry got septicemia, and passed away on July 10, 1559. After Henry's death, the society felt turbulance. The mistress Diane was exiled by queen catherine, and the sucessor of Henry died 18 months after he became king. The country had religious problems between protestant and catholicism for the next 40 years -

Ivan IV had a good life until his wife died. On top of that, his son dies aswell, and he lost a big battle. Ivan's life dramatically changed in the categories oh his mood and his life altogether. He starts his "Terrible Reign" where Ivan went on killing rampages, and had secret police to overwhelm his victims, which were mostly boyars. (Ivan) -

Ivan IV kills many boyars
Ivan IV's reign took a turn for the worst when the terror began. In 1560, his wife had passed away. Ivan believed that she was murdered by boyars which made his suspicion and paranioa arise. Ivan decided to attack the boyars. He murdered families and royal groups in the name of Anastasia Romanov, his dead wife. This is signifigant because he earns his name, "Ivan the Terrible". (Ivan) -

Edict of Orleans Suspends Persecution of Huguenots
Document signed by Louis XVI that suspended persecution of huguenots (protestants) before the Edict of Toleration was passed. This is a signifigant document because it is one of the first moves to ignore and tolerate protestants. Without this document, the huguenots might have not been able to be tolerated and we would still have religious wars today. -

The O'neill family led most of the Irish compound, but had many enemies. When O'neill went to england to assign peace, enemies were planning in ireland. This rebel to England was very important because if he didnt do this there would be no irish connections with england as strong as this one. -

Massive public execution
Ivan found many to be guilty under his own reign of terror. On July 25, 1570 Ivan sought out his biggest public execution- 116 civilians were killed this day. This is an extremely important part in Ivans rule, since it was his cruelest act he has ever done. 116 people in a public execution was the most he's ever done, which is very signifigant to just show people how terrible and cruel Ivan really is. Boyars overwhelm ivan
Ivan was no longer able to kill big boyar families now that his power has diminished. He got many big families, but many were stopping him from killing more. As Ivan's reign started to halt, so did his health. Ivan was more mental then ever and had a bad problem with his brain, which will result in a stroke later in his life. (Frank 518) -

Ivan The Terrible has to pass his throne to his mental son
Ivan killed his elder son, and thus killing his successor. Now, Ivan has to pass the throne to his mentally unstable and ill son. A mental patient can not have a throne, and this will cause problems in the future of Russia's monarchs, and will also start the Romanov family empire for the next century. (Better 1) -

Ivan kills his older son
Ivan and his younger son got in a dispute, and Ivan eventually got mad, and took his staff and lodged it into the son's temple. This murder is very signifigant and shows how mentally insane Ivan the Terrible has become. Since he kills his successor, his mental son will have to take over after Ivan's reign. Ivan IV dies of stroke
On March 18, 1584 Ivan died of a stroke. Ivan's death is important to the rest of Russia as an end to terror and a start of turmoil. Russia did not know who to make the leader, and many counterfeit people rose to void the gap of no monarch. Russia was in the Time of Troubles until the Romanov family stepped up, since the queen was a Romanov. This is signifigant because the Romanov family will be ruling for the next century to come.
