I was born in Jasper, Indiana to Greg and Julie Steckler. At this time, I had two older brothers named Henry and Harrison. I weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and was 21 inches long.

When I was one-year-old 9/11 traumatized the entire United States. I don't remember this, but after taking many history classes it has impacted the way I look at traveling and other countries.

I am sure I was nervous walking into Mrs. Brenda's at St. Henry for the first time. I know that I had fun when I got to play with all my little friends.

On my first day of elementary school, I was so excited to get to ride the school bus for the first time. It was still scary though because I was meeting new friends for the very first time.

At the Steckler household, we never had parties with just my friends but I'm sure that my godparents came over and I got to pick my cake. At five years old I was in love with school. It is crazy to think that at that young I knew I wanted to be a teacher.

Fist communion was a very fun time for me as a Catholic. This is the first time that I was able to receive communion, Jesus' flesh and blood.

On this day my little brother was born and I fell in love with babies. He was so much fun to take care of, dirt diapers and all.

I fell in love with basketball in the fourth and fifth grade. It gave me a chance to test my athleticism and the feeling of being apart of a team.

Barack Obama was the first African American president of the United States of America. The political side shifted and new programs were put into place.

I was young when my grandma died. I know that she had lher life to the fullest by unconditionally loving her seventeen children and her husband. I remember her being an amazing cook, great hugger, and a woman of God.

When I was ten years I was chunky, nerdy, and not very attractive. again we never had birthday parties but i kbnow i got to pick out the cake.

On my first day of middle school, I remember being very nervous about joining with Huntingburg Elementry students. I knwe some of the girls who when there, but not very well and their class was masive compared to ours.

I joined the track team in seventh grade and instantly fell in love with the sport. The fact that it was an individual sport but was sprinkled in with a team was my favorite part.

In eighth grade, I was honored to be recognized as the most outstanding girl in our class. I was so nervous to give a speech and I'm pretty sure I looked at my paper the entire time.

I was so excited to be a teenager but along with that came the pimples and all the drama. On my thirteenth birthday, I celebrated with my family and got to choose my own cake.

I was so so scared on my first day of high school. Back then I feel like we respect our seniors a lot more than freshman do today. Henry was a senior when I was a freshman so we grew really close because he would take me to school most days.

This was a major debate that could have gone either way. However, the Supreme Court spoke and that was the outcome.

Henry and I grew really close his senior year due to the fact that he took me everywhere and we became involved in many of the same clubs. I was a culture shock to the Steckler household when he moved out to go to college.

I was very honored to be nominated by my teammates for this award. This is was the highlight year of my entire high school career and I had so much fun running and jumping with those girls.

I was very appreciative to receive this award on behalf of the good grades I was able to keep up during my freshman year of high school.

I was planning on going to Holiday World with some girlfriends but my belly just hurt so bad I just couldn't. I slept the entire day and the next day I was at Memorial Hospital and my appendix was gone.

Kru and I have known each other for our entire lives. My mom and his use to trade clothes. I had always thought he was really funny but it wasn't until track that we started talking and really getting to know each other. At a Southridge baseball game, he most awkwardly asked me to be his girlfriend and I accepted.

It was a tough couple of months when my grandpa died. He suffered from Alzheimer's and was always missing my grandma and wondering where she was. I remember one day when his Alzheimers was bad and he hardly knew anyone's name. I was outside mowing his yard and he asked my mom if that was Maria outside doing such a nice job on his yard.

I was very appreciative to be nominated by my peers to be on homecoming as a sophomore. I remember this being a very fun and chilly night that was full of pictures, friends, and family.

This was the very first time that I have been away from my family for an entire week in Tenasee. The experience cracked open my shy shell, made me work in a group of people who I barely knew, and overall brought me closer to God.

I had always loved basketball as a kid, but once I had gotten to the high school and varsity level it was too much to handle. I was crying after games, my belly always hurt, and it was affecting my school work. I really couldn't wait to hang it up after my sophmore year.

This year Coach Main had retired from coaching and Coach Obrien took her place. I was very surprised and honored to receive this award.

During the Summer leading into my junior year, I was asked to play slow pitch in Holland for the St. Mary's and St. Henry Softball team. We won the tournament that year and have been unbeatable ever since.

This was an exciting day as a Catholic. On this day I was recognized as an adult in my parish. My confirmation name was Sophia.

I loved going to prom for the very first time!! It was so much fun having Jenna, my cousin, to do my hair and makeup. I loved looking for my dress, shoes, and jewelry. It was such a late and fun night and every moment was so memorable.

This was probably the most memorable birthday that I had thus far. It was a Thursday, and I remember being so excited to get my licence in just a few short months.

I had not received this award my sophomore year so I was so excited to receive it my junior year. This proved to me that basketball was taking away from my studies and it was probably a good idea that I didn't play.

I was excited and nervous to get my braces on. Based on the spacers I thought that had to get before I even got them I thought that my braces were going to hurt very bad. I was presently surprised that after a couple of weeks they really didn't hurt that bad.

Before Donald Trump was President he was known for being a business phenomenon but also a little harsh. During the election year that is all we heard about was Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton.

This was one of my favorite pictures from last years prom. However, Axl got his hair all over my dress and found it fun to claw at my dress too. Prom was just as fun as the one before. One of my favorite things at post prom was the trampoline harnesses that allowed you to flip in all sorts of directions.

Turning seventeen put me right on my way to senior year and getting prepared for college. Overall this year has been full of mixed emotions. From doing last things in high school to applying for colleges and scholarships. It has been busy and exciting.

This was a bittersweet day for me. Kru and Harrison would never have another school day at Southridge and they were both moving on to college. That meant long distance and another culture shock in the Steckler household.

I was so unbelievably honored to just be apart of the 2017 Homecoming Court. It's really awesome to think that our grade chose me to represent them to the Southridge Nation. It was so much fun having Montana Jones do my hair and makeup even though we were a little late for pictures. It was so nice and warm unlike sophmore year.

Our Senior football boys brought home a state championship. It was an honor just to see them play at Lucus Oil.
