    The French and Indian War was a war over land within the ohio river valley and economic resources controled by the French. The British Purpose of this war was to get the resources and land from the French. Colonists reacted by joining the war and fighting over what was wanted.

    Treaty of Paris
    This document ended the French and Indian War and gave the British the land they were fighting for andSpain got the rest of the Land from the Mississippi River west.The British created this document so they could have their land and get rid of the French. The reaction of the colonists was they began to move westward into their newly claimed land.

    Proclomation of 1763
    This law or "proclomation" banned the colonist from crossing the Appalachian Mountains or moving west of them. The British purpose was so that the colonists did get hurt or attacked by indians. The colonists were angry and went ahead into their land.

    This act created an tax on sugar and molasses. The reason that the British did this was to pay off debt from the French and Indian war. Colonists reaction was that they started to get angry and rebell.

    This act put a tax on legal documents and almost every paper product. The purpose was To regain money from the French and Indian war. The colonists reaction was they formed a stamp act congress to form a boycott.

    This Act ordered the colonists to give British soldiers food and let them stay in their house. So the soldiers wouldn't get hurt but also so they can keep watch on the colonists. The colonists were very upset but they couldn't do anything about it.

    This put a tax on various household items such as paper, glass, lead, silk, and tea. The purpose of this was to regain money from the French and Indian War. The colonists reaction was to boycott throught the non-importation agreement.

    This gave customs officers the right to search ships at will. The prpose for this law was so that the officials could steal or be involved in unlawfull acts. The colonists reaction was they claimed it was an invasion of privacy and they were upset.

    This was a riot started by the British that eventually killed 5 people. The reason the British fired was because of confusion but they used it for a reference to what they would do if things got out of hand. But instead of being scared they used it as motivation.

    This act cut the trade of tea with the coloniesbecause the British East India company lowered prices. The british purpose was so that they could control the prices of tea within the colonies. The colonists reaction was the Boston Tea Party.

    This was the event in which the colonists dumped 90,000 pounds of tea into the Boston Tea Party. The British did not have really anything to do with this event but they were upset. The colonists reaction was that they celebrated their success in boycotting the British.

    This act told the colonists that they could not hold town meetings within the thirteen colonies. The British did this so they couldn't come together and plan against Britain. The Colonists reacted by meeting with the continental congress for the first time and they begin to unify.

    This was the first big meeting that the colonists had and they dicussed their problems with Britain. The colonists were becoming angered and decided to go to war.

    This was the very first battle of the revolutionary war and showed that the colonists were serious about the war. The British were trying to get in and arrest the Sons of Liberty. But they weren't able to because the colonists retreated to concord.

    This was the very first victory colonist that really showed the British that the it wasn't going to be an easy fight. The British were following the colonists from lexington so they could end the battle but were met by 4,000 minutemen waiting for them and the British retreated. The colonists celebrated their victory and prepared for war.

    The colonists met to ceate the Olive Branch Petition that was used to ask the King for peace without war, they also organized the first Continental Army. The King denied their letter and the war continued. The colonists were very upset with the King.

    This war was a loss for the colonists because of their lack of gunpwder. They were told "do not shoot until you can see the white of their eyes". The British succeeded at capturing the fortified hill. The colonists became angry and were ready for the next battle.

    This was written by Thomas Paine, convincing the colonists to support the revolution. The British purpose was not really anything but they fired at the colonists in the Boston Massacre. The colonists began to realize the importance of separation of Britain.

    This was a huge turning point for the Patriots because they were technically saying that we are independent no matter what. The Bitish were very angry that they tried to break apart. The colonists were very happy that they had broke away.

    This was a battle that dtermined who controlled New york city. The British wanted to gain control New york City because it was the center of all trade. The colonists were very upset that they had lost their control of trade.

    This was a battle between the Continental Army and the Hessians in which George Washington crossed the Delaware River and surprised the Hessians. The British had no idea they were coming because the generals went to celebrate. The colonists were very pleased with their victory and were given even more determination.

    This was a surprise that George Washington used to capture and defeat 300 soldiers. The British could not really defend them selves because they were surprised. The colonists were very excited about their victory.

    This was a huge turning point for the Patriots because Benjamin Franklin created the Treaty of Alliance to get the French to join them. The British were very upset that they were getting help. The colonists were very hopefull about the war.

    During this winter the colonists started to train but conditions were terrible and they got sick and even died. The British were also affected by the cold but not as bad as the colonists. The britsh were really brought down by this event and their numbers were put way down.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    This was the last battle of the war and it was important to the colonists because the colonists won and the British surrendered. This offically gave the colonists freedom and the colonists celebrated.

    This was the Treaty that ended the war and said that both sides had to return everything back to each other also the British had to give the Americans Freedom.The colonists were very happy the were indpendent.
