Street Fight M and C
Servants from the Montague family and from the Capulet family meet each other in the street, and "trash talk" each other into fighting. After that fray the Prince says that anyone else who gets in a fight will be killed. -

Romeo loves Rosaline
Early in the story, in Act 1, Romeo falls in love with a girl named Rosaline, but she does not love him back. This makes Romeo depressed and sad, but eventually he forgets about her. -

Paris asks permission
Paris, a well groomed young man, asks Juliet's father, Capulet, if he may have Juliet's hand in marriage. Capulet thinks for a second and then replies, "No." Paris begins to plead and Capulet eventually compromises and creates a party for them to meet and see if they, "hit it off". -

Romeo attends the Party
At this time Romeo was still very lovestruck for the beautiful Rosaline, but Benvolio convinces him to go to Capulet's party with him. Benvolio wants him to go so he will forget about Rosaline, but Romeo wants to go in hopes of seeing Rosaline. Instead of seeing Rosaline, Romeo sees Juliet and it's love at first sight, but he doesn't know her last name yet! -

Romeo and Juliet find out each others' last names
While at the Capulet party Romeo and Juliet meet, kiss, and have a nice moment. A little bit after they meet Juliet's maid comes out and says her mother wishes to see her. Romeo asks, "Who is this fine lady's mother?" The nurse then replies, "Lady Capulet." This scares Romeo because it is his family's enemy. Juliet then asks her nurse what is his last name and she says Montague. So they are now deep in love, but also deep in trouble with each others family. -

Our love is sworn
Even though Romeo and Juliet have recently found out that they are from feuding families, they decide to swear their love for each other, because names are just but a thing to Juliet. Also, they decide to attempt to get married without anyone knowing. They decide all of this while Juliet is standing on her balcony, in the famous balcony scene. -

Asking Friar Lawerence
Romeo and Juliet ask their local Friar, Friar Lawerence, if he will marry them, but he must keep it only between them. -

Friar Lawerence Accepts
Friar Lawerence now has the choice to either accept or decline the challenge of marrying two feuding families together. After a little bit of thought, Friar Lawerence agrees to marry them for only one reason. The one reason being that he hopes it will end the feud between the Capulet and Montague families. -

Marriage
Now that the Friar has agreed to marry Romeo and Juliet they just have to find a place to meet. They agree to meet at the Friar's tiny building of worship. On their wedding day Romeo just sneaks out to the building. Juliet must tell her parents that she is going to confession when in reality she is going to get married. They meet at the Friar's and they go through the ceremony and are now married, but need a proper honeymoon. -

Nurse is now a Partner in Crime
Now that Romeo and Juliet are secretly married, only the Friar, Juliet's Nurse, Juliet, and Romeo know. Since they are married they need a honeymoon so they decide to have Romeo climb up a rope to Juliet's room. They do this by having Juliet's nurse set up the rope on the side of Juliet's window. Later that night Romeo climbs that rope into her room and they have a good time. -

The Deadly Meet
Mercutio, Benvolio, and Romeo meet Tybalt, who is demanding to fight with Romeo. Romeo won't fight because he is secretly married to Juliet. Since Romeo won't fight, Mercutio and Tybalt get into a fight, and the result is the death of Mercutio. -

Romeo's Revenge
Now that Romeo has witnessed Tybalt kill his best friend, Mercutio, he knows what he must do. Romeo then chases the running Tybalt down and shoots him. After he has killed Tybalt, he runs and escapes. -

Romeo is Banished
The Prince has stayed strong and true to his promise of killing or doing as much as possible to get rid of anyone who caused fights. Since Tybalt started the fight and is now dead because of Romeo, the punishment transfers to Romeo. Since he cannot be found, he is banished out of Verona, and then moves to the neighboring city of Verona. -

The lovers are now seperated
Now that Romeo has been banished from Verona, Romeo and Juliet can no longer see each other. This happening calls for desperate plans and measures. -

Juliet's Potion
Now that Romeo and Juliet are separated and can't see each other, Juliet comes up with what she believes to be a brilliant plan. She thinks that if she creates a potion that will make her seem dead, it will solve her problems. She will be able to escape to be with Romeo and avoid getting married to Paris. So she goes to Friar Lawerence and he makes the potion and she drinks it.
