  • The first game of basketball

    James Naismith, created Basketball at the age of 30 with a base set of 13 rules to follow in the game. The first game consisted of 18 students from the International Young Men’s Christian Association Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts.     During the 1936 summer Olympics hosted in Berlin Germany, they hosted the first Olympic basketball game.

  • The NBA is formed

    In august of 1949, The NBA was officially a organization. The NBA is a mixture of the basketball association of America (BAA) and the national basketball league (NBL). The NBA was made with 17 teams in it's lineup. By 1954-1955, the NBA had dwindled to only 8 teams.
