The sports are held at the Olympia every four years in between August 6 and September 19. The first records of the game that we still have are taken from 776 BCE but it is belived that the Olympics were a part of the world centuries before. These games only consisted of foot races, but over time the race accepted other sports such as wrestling. -
394 AD The Games Are Abolished

The games are abolished by Roman Emperor, Theodosius, because he thought the Olympics lead to pagan parctices. -
IOC is founded
Baron Pierre de Coubertin, a young frenchman, founded the IOC (International Olympic Comitee). He declared himself president and proposed that the Olympics be held every four years in a diffrent country each time. -
First Modern Olympic Games
The first modern Olympic games are finally held in Athens, Greece. There was a total of 43 events and 243 men competed. No women competed becaues the IOC found it unexciting and injust. 14 countries participated in these Olympics. -

The Olympics take place in Paris Farnce. Women are allowed to compete for the first time in these games. Only 11 women compete ,and they only particpate in tennis and golf. -
