President Abraham Lincoln declares that slavery is illegal in the seven southern states that permitted slavery. This ended the Civil War, and greatly affected immigration. This affected immigration because people of color would feel much safer living in America, so the rates of African-American immigrants rose quickly and greatly. -
The Homestead Act
People were moving from the East of America to West of America. The Homestead Act is when the government gave 160 acres of land for free, that is considered a good size for a single family to farm.. The Page Act
