Lars Publicius was the new High Chancellor of the Empire, 46 by 5E 308. Before the election, Lars held tenure as the Mayor of Bravil. Lars represented the moderate wing of the nominally far-left Syndicalist Party. As hardline Mahakhism had been discredited by the actions of the UMS, the SP had decided to move towards revisionism. -
Lars Publicius changes course

His government led a wave of nationalizations, with many failing corporations brought under the control of the Empire. In certain areas of Cyrodiil, like Nibenean Valley and Blackforest, collectivization of workers took place, with agriculture booming in the Blankenmarsh farmlands. A nationalized workers benefit system was established among citizens of the Empire. -
Banking reform in the Empire
The Imperial Depression turned the septim into a fluctuating currency, which caused minor banks to fail and take large chunks of wealth with them. Lars Publicius proposed a banking reform to unite many smaller banks into larger banks, with governmental supervision to avoid further bank collapses. The reform narrowly passed in the Elder Council and was heavily criticized, but critics were silenced after extraordinary stability was achieved in Cyrodiilic banking system. -

For instance, he believed that Tamriel was better off without the sinister Dwemer, that he missed the old Direnni days in High Rock and that Versidue-Shaie once sent him a birthday card. Voraielandil became a minor celebrity in Cyrodiil and began hosting a quiz TV show called "Hey, I Was There!". -
Nirnic Treaty System signed
Some states, like Aldmeri Dominion and UMS, were actively seeking to colonize and subjugate Akavir. In order to prevent this, the Tamrielic Council introduced the Nirnic Treaty System. The NTS prohibited unilateral colonization of Akavir, Yokuda, Atmora, Pyandonea, Thras and Roscrea. All future attempts to claim and colonize lands on other continents had to be peaceful and coordinated with the Council. The NTS was signed by the Dominion, the Empire and the State of Argonia, but not by the UMS. -

The Wayfarers considered using welkynd stones, gathered from Cyrodiil, but their original power output proved inadequate. Only after acquiring a great welkynd stone did it became possible to built arcane-powered electricity generators. The generators, called welkynd motors, were installed in experimental flying vehicles. -
The Disappearance of IMS Vulture
IMS Vulture was a small fishing ship, belonging to a fishing company in Harburg, a town near Leyawiin. It had mysteriously disappeared after a routine examination. A month later, it was spotted sailing near the city of Winterhold, in the Sea of Ghosts. It was helmed by a crew of reanimated corpses and vampires. Nordic gunboats intercepted the IMS Vulture and cleared the ship of its inhabitants. In the engine room of the decrepit ship, a shrine to Molag Bal was discovered. -
Mocarumi takes off
Mocarumi, a lively counter-culture music genre, became popular in the Summerset Isles. Born in the culturally vibrant Sunshine Coast area of the Isles, Mocarumi was a loud dance music genre, played entirely through arcane means: its players used magic to manipulate and amplify sound-waves. Mocarumi concerts were defined by raunchy lyrics, large restless crowds, intense light shows and occasional injuries, created by overly eager and/or high wizard-musicians. -
Eldhrenist laws revoked
Hlovris Seddri's government passed new laws, which struck down the old totalitarian laws of Falaris Eldhren. Limited freedom of speech was allowed and Eldhren himself was officially deemed a "misguided patriot". Immigration laws were relaxed, which led to a brain drain of Dunmeri intellectuals to Cyrodiil and Skyrim. -
Rihad Court for War Crimes established, UMS joins the Council
The Tamrielic Council established the Rihad Court for War Crimes, meant to prosecute war criminals on neutral grounds. Three months later, the Union of Mahakhist Syndicates decided to join the Tamrielic Council, a move made by the reformist Seddri government. -
White-Gold Tower renovated
The White-Gold Tower, the symbol of Imperial power, was in dire need of modernization. Although its internal structure, built by the Ayleids, was strong enough to survive almost anything, its outer facade was falling apart. The Imperial Engineers were tasked to renovate the White-Gold Tower. The Tower's crumbling stone facade was replaced with malachite glass and Nordic steel. Now, the modernist White-Gold Tower stood at 3,330 feet, looming above all other structures on Tamriel. -

All Tamrielic states were experiencing overpopulation and desired to expand their territories. The Aldmeri Dominion demanded the Tamrielic Council to rewrite the Nirnic Treaty System. The NTS was renegotiated into the Windhelm Treaty. The WT proclaimed Akavir to be free from sovereignty from all states. This meant that Akavir was now terra nullius, claimable by anyone. As the Padomaic Wall prohibited attempts to colonize Akavir on a large scale, it was decided that the Wall must be eradicated. -
Fabius Lucius dies

I'm glad to see that Nibenese jackass dead. Better lose your eye than your honor." -
