    The Factory System is a system that uses machines for the source of its labor. Key Concept: Progress - This system is significant in progress because it allowed things to be manufactured quickly.

    The sewing machine is an invention that is mechanically driven in order to sew. Key Concept: Progress - This invention is significant to progress because it allowed textiles to be produced quickly.

    The Cotton Gin is a machine that was invented to separate cotton from its seeds. Key Concept: Progress - The Cotton Gin fits under the progress section because it helped the production of cotton go a lot faster which is turn helped business.

    Interchangeable parts were different components that could fit into multiple machines. Key Concept: Progress - Interchangeable parts were significant in progress because it allowed pieces to fit into multiple machines without having to custom make them.

    The Plantation System was the division on land under private ownership. The plantations grew cash crops such as cotton, tobacco, sugar cane, etc. Slaves were also used as the source of labor. Key Concept: Conflict - The Plantation System fits under the conflict section because many in the North opposed using slaves for labor due to them ultimately being hostages.

    The Erie Canal is a canal that took 8 years to build that is apart of the east-west, cross-state route of the New York canal system. Key Concept: Expansion - The Erie Canal was significant in expansion because it allowed people to move westward as well as expanding where goods went.

The compromise was composed of five bills passed by the U.S. Congress that diffused conflicts for four years. Key Concept: Conflict - This is significant in conflict because it was a compromise to help not start conflict between slave and slave free states.
