The Dunkirk evacuation, code-named Operation Dynamo, also known as the Miracle of Dunkirk, was the evacuation of Allied soldiers during World War II from the beaches and harbor of Dunkirk, in the north of France, between 26 May and 4 June 1940.

NOTES: The Battle of Britain is a famous battle. During the battle, Germany tried to bomb England's Royal Air Force. After Britain struck severe damage, the Germans stopped those attacks and switched to bombing Britain's cities instead.

Attack On Pearl Harbor - After the attack on Pearl Harbor, the USA declared war on Japan. On 11th December 1941, Germany and Italy declared war on the USA.
Operation Barbarossa June 1941 - Hitler sent 3 million soldiers and 3,500 tanks into Russia. By November 1942 the tables were turning and the Russians won their first victory against Germany at the Battle of Stalingrad. -
On December 7, 1941, the Japanese launched a surprise attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor. After two hours of the bombing, 18 U.S. ships were sunk or damaged, 188 U.S. aircraft were destroyed, and 2,403 people were killed.

D-Day is a military term designating the start of a military operation. The D-day in modern history refers to what happened on 6th June 1944 - the day on which the Battle of Normandy began.
It was a huge effort involving months of secret preparations. D-day marked the turning point in World War II when the Allied forces began to win their fight against the Axis powers. The invasion was code-named Overlord. -
