An incident when a lone soldier guarding the Kings money began to be harassed by some locals and a mob began to form. The soldier warrying about the money being stolen called for back up. This ended with 5 locals and 2 boys dead.

William Duddington the Captian of the queen's ship Gaspee was known to loot other navy vessels and abuse his power. A ship coming from Newport baited the Gaspee aground. Colonist heard of this and got the crew off the ship and looted and burned the ship down.

Colonist did not want to have to pay the taxes on the tea. At night colonist dressed as Native Americans boarded the East Indian Company ships and dumped the tea into the water.

John Jay is sent to Britain to end the Impressment of the colonist. The terms agreed were that Britain would compensate for all ships seized, Indian trade would open for America, the British would evacuate the western forts. Impressments would not be mentioned in the treaty. After returning to American Jay would have to retire from the public eye becuase of the backlash.
