French and Indian war
The french and Indian war, was a conflict in between the French, the British and the Indians. It happened because the British and the french were trying to expand. I created tension with the colonies because they were taking the native american's land and fighting over it. -

The proclamation established a Proclamation line along the Appalachians, which the colonist were not allowed to cross. It was created to avoid further conflict with native Americans. It created more tension however because, they colonist eager made them ignore it. -

The sugar act was a set or rules that increased the taxes over sugar in order to help Britain with its national debt. lost of colonist didn't like it because it reduced the merchants profits and it made sugar more expensive overall. The stamp act was a set of rules that imposed a tax on documents and printed items such as wills or newspaper, a stamp would be placed on the document to prove that the tax has been payed. Samuel Adams was one of the founders of the Sons of Liberty, a group that usually boycotted British goods due to the immense amount of taxes and acts. this group cause conflicts because of their stealing and that made the British authorities angry -
Declaratory Act
The Declaratory Act gave the parliament full ability to "bind the colonies and people of america in all cases whatsoever". The act was passed so Britain still had as much control as possible over the colonies. That cause conflict because the colonies didn't want to Britain to have that much control over them -
Townshend Acts & colonist response
The Townshend act named after Charles Townshend taxed goods imported into the colony from Britain such as leas, glass and the most important drink tea. they did that to also help Britain out with the international debt. it created a lot of conflicts because everybody loved tea at the time and they were angry over the act -

Boston massacre
The Boston massacre was a "fight" where the British army started firing at group of angry citizens. It happened because a mob gathered in front of the Boston custom house and they were yelling at the soldiers until shots started being fired at the unarmed citizens. this created tension because the news spread quickly throughout america. -
Tea Act
The British shuts out colonial tea merchants so the colonist decide to dump 18,000 pounds of tea (worth $1,000,000) in the ocean. It happened because it the act allowed the east India company to sell tea free of taxes which cut colonial merchants. It created tension because now the colonist were more angry and the British too because of the tea that was dumped into the ocean -
Boston Tea Party
Because of the Tea act the colonist were angry at the British and they decided to dump 18,000 pounds of tea into the ocean. it created tension because it made the British angry too. -
Intolerable acts
Due to major acts of resistance King George pressed parliament acts, also known as intolerable acts, first it shut down Boston harbor, second it allowed any British commander to house soldier in any vacant private property and other buildings. they did that to respond to Boston's tea party. It created more tension between the colonist and Britain because they responded with the first continental congress. -
First Continental congress meets
The first continental congress was a meeting that drew up a declaration of colonial rights. It was the first step for freedom and it also meant that it was the first step to a war. -

Minutemen were civilian colonists who independently organized to form well-prepared militia companies self-trained in weaponry, tactics, and military strategies from the American colonial partisan militia during the American Revolutionary War. It moved the colonies closer to war because they were organizing a militia to fight that war -
Second continental congress
The Second continental Congress was created to debate america's next move. it was another step to the war because they were getting closer and closer to the war. -
Battle of lexington
lasted 15 minutes and 1 redcoat was injured, it happened when the british general told the 70 minutemen to lay down their weapons until someone fired a shot and then the fight began. after the fight the british headed to concord. -
Battle of Concord
after lexington they marched to concord just to find a empty arsenal, after searching the arsenal they started marching back but when they did so 3000-4000 man had gathered and they started fighting -
Continental Army
The Continental Army was formed by the Second Continental Congress after the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War by the ex-British colonies that became the United States of America. -
Battle Of Bunker Hill
The battle of bunker hill was a battle on breed's hill where general Gage sent 2,400 troops and they got attacked. the one of the first battle the colonist won, they lost, 450 men while 1000 British soldiers died -
Olive Branch Petition
The Olive Branch Petition was a final attempt by the colonists to avoid going to war with Britain during the American Revolution. It was a document in which the colonists pledged their loyalty to the crown and asserted their rights as British citizens. -
Washington Suprise attack
On a desperate attempt to win Washington led a 2400 in small boats through Delaware river and attacked the British troops in Trenton, they did defeat the Garrison; However, the British forces regrouped and defeated the colonist then took over Philadelphia -
Redcoats push Washington
Redcoats knew they had to move fast so they quickly took over new York, although the colonist tried to resist in they end they backed off and the British pushed the colonist into Pennsylvania. They won that fight because of their highly trained army and number(32000 soldiers). -

General John Burgoyne planned to lead an army through the lakes from Canada to Albany and then meet a New York where they would join forces with the rest of the army; However, when going through the wilderness the colonist had surrounded Philadelphia and john didn't realize that they were busy trying to hold the city and so they had to surrender -
French-American Alliance
After Saratoga the French were impressed and decided to join forces with the Americans. -
Valley Forge
While the alliance was taking place in Paris, Washington and the remaining troops were struggling to survive without, they fought again to survive the winter. more than 2000 soldiers died and the survivors didn't desert. -

american troops began an amazing transformation Friedrich, a Prussian captain started to train the continental army(feb 1778), and marquis Lafayette also helped the Americans by leading Virginia in the last year of the war. -
British victory in the south
The British started moving south after the defeat at Saratoga, at the end of 1778 a British expedition easily took over Savannah Georgia, they also took over charles town under the command of charles cornwallis and henry clinton in may 1780. -
British Surrender at Yorktown
After camping at Yorktown, Lafayette and washington heard about their plan and started moving south too, meanwhile French troops took over chesapeake blocking British sea routes. by late september around 17000 soldiers had surrounded The British at Yorktown, they started fighting and at October 19 1781 Cornwallis finally surrendered. -
Loyalist and Patriots
As the war began colonist found themselves divided in 2 types of Americans. Loyalist were the colonist that were still loyal to the king and Britain they also apposed independence, and then there is the Patriots those who wanted independence and were not loyal to the British anymore (1765 – 1783) -
