    Kinetoscope is introduced to the public

    The kinetoscope, an early motion picture exhibition is introduced to the public. It was invented by Thomas Edison. It takes a picture on a strip of film with a lighted box behind it which is used to view the image. The viewer then uses a handle to go to the next image, creating the effect of a movie. This becomes the basic approach which is the standard for all cinematic projection before the video came.

    1. 1912: French Engineer Leon Gaumont created the panochromatic film, a black and white film that was sensitive to light of all colours, giving the film a more realistic appeal.
    2. 1915: Colour film processes, Technicolor, were introduced in this year by the Technicolor Motion Picture Corporation.
    3. 1915: Bell & Howell created the 2709 camera, enabling the filming of close-ups without needing to physically move the camera to shoot the subject close-up.

    The 1910s was the most signifcant decade in history. Many inventions and creations were developed and introduced during this time. In addition, the famous Titanic - also dubbed as the 'unsinkable ship' - had sunk, evoking chaos and distress. The archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated, resulting in World War I. World War I introduced the world to a decade of war and loss and revolution. It started in the mid-1910s and ended in the late-1910s.

In turn, there was more rebellious traits in these teenagers than in past generations. IN the film industry, this inspired movie-makers to create more films on rebels such as "Rebel Without A Cause" (1955).
