This was a war fought between the British Colonies and the french along with their allies who were Indians. It was over a dispute of who would have control of the Ohio River. The French were winning the war until British soldiers came to help. -

the Continental Congress basically became the government for the colonies and they discussed the war with the British. They implement the idea of putting together armies and paying them for their service. -
Royal Proclamation of 1763
This stated that colonist cant settle in Native America land which angered the colonist and was a stepping stone for rebellion against the British Rule -
Sugar Act
This reduced the taxes on molasses but implemented a act on all sugar and this was strictly enforced. This greatly angered the colonist as they were already dealing with some economical issues. -
Stamp act
This Act was a direct money grab by the British and stated that anything printed in the American colonies must include a stamp that could only be bought from the British and was very expensive. This created an enormous amount of anger in the American colonies. -
Townshend Acts
A bunch of new taxes was imposed on the American colonies that were known as the Townshend acts and started a large number of protests and riots in the colonies against the British. -
Boston Massacre
During protests and riots in Boston, many of the rioters threatened the British soldiers with clubs and the soldier fired upon these rioters and killed 5 of them. -
Tea Act
This Act didn’t impose any new taxes but it granted complete monopoly over the tea trade in America to the British East India Company -
Boston Tea Party
Sons of Liberty launched a protest in Boston and stormed a ship carrying hundreds of pounds of tea and threw is all in the harbor as a response to the tea act. -
First Continental Congress
First Continental Congress meets this was a meeting of the delegates from the Thirteen Colonies. The meeting was convened to discuss the Intolerable Acts passed by the British Parliament. -

This was the first armed fight between the British and the American colonies. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill took place as part of the Siege of Boston during the American Revolutionary War. The British decided to occupy the hills surrounding the city of Boston. The colonial forces learned about this plan and occupied Breed’s Hill with the intent of opposing the British advance. When the British tried to occupy the hill, the colonial forces took them by surprise and attacked them. -

The Declaration of Independence was a very important declaration adopted by the Second Continental Congress in 1776. This declaration said that the 13 American colonies were no longer under British rule and considered themselves as independent entities. -

This was an intense winter for the army lead by George Washington and many men died due to the harsh conditions. -
Battle of Saratoga
Two battles were fought between the American and British forces in Saratoga County, New York. In the first battle, the British were victorious but they couldn’t break through American lines to achieve their actual objective. In the second battle, the American army was decisively victorious. The whole British army was surrounded and forced to surrender. This was an important event of the Revolutionary War because the British defeat convinced France to form an alliance with America. -
Siege of Yorktown
After many American battle wins, the British looked to take refuge in Yorktown and wait for British reinforcement. Then the Americans took over Yorktown and captured many of the British soldiers. The British were forced to surrender and marked the end of the Revolutionary War -
Treaty of Paris
Great Britain officially accepted its defeat and recognized the independence of the United States of America. The treaty also stated that the western boundary of the USA was the Mississippi River, although the newly born nation soon expanded beyond this boundary. -
Bill of Rights
Some of the states didn’t like the new constitution. They wanted to change it and agreed to vote in its favor only if the constitution would be amended soon after. They were collectively known as the Bill of Rights and comprised of a total of 10 amendments. The amendments were approved in 1789 by Congress, but it needed to be approved by at least 10 states in order to become a part of the U.S. Constitution. In 1791, Virginia became the 10th state to ratify the amendments -

Whiskey Rebellion
Because of the United States' large debt due to the war, there was a tax on whiskey that was implemented. This did not sit well with many people and caused large amounts of rebellion. George Washington had to send in the militia to stop the protestors. -
George Washington dies
George Washington does on December 14th of 1799 at the age of 67.
