began in 1754 and ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763 The French and Indian War was a conflict in North America between British and French colonies, with Native American tribes also involved. It was part of a larger global conflict known as the Seven Years' War. The British victory led to their control over much of Canada and lands east of the Mississippi River.
