Voldemort murders the elderly caretaker of the Riddle house
Frank, the elderly caretaker of the Riddle house, investigates intruders. He is then murdered by a weak and sick Voldemort in an upstairs room. Harry Potter, two hundred miles away in Little Whinging, wakes up with his scar hurting after seeing this event in a dream. -
Traveling to the Quidditch World Cup final
Harry travels with his best friend Ron´s family to the Quidditch World Cup final after receiving an invitation the previous day. They take a portkey to get there, and they meet the future triwizard champion Cedrick Diggory and his father on the way. -
Setting up camp at the Quidittch World Cup final
Harry, Hermoine and the Weasley family set up what looks like two small old tents from the outside, but on the inside they are enormous. Also the two ministry men; Barty Crouch and Ludo Bangman drops by for tea, whom both are important characters in the book. -
Quidditch World Cup final
The Quidditch match between Irland and Bulgaria is fast paced and brutal and results in fairly superior victory for Irland. Although the Bulgarian seeker Victor Krum catches the snitch. Harry, Hermoine and the Weasleys watches the match from the stadiums top box. -
Death eaters raid the campsite
After the match Death eaters (Voldemorts followers) raid the campsite, causing chaos. Masses, including Harry, runs into the forest. The death eaters are driven away when at the time an unknown person casts the dark mark with Harrys stolen wand.
That person is later reveled to be Barty Crouch Jr. -
Traveling and arriving at Hogwarts
After taking taxis from the Burrow (the Weasley family house) to
King´s Cross station, they take the Hogwarts express. At Hogwarts during the Welcome Feast, it is revealed that the triwizarding tournament is going to take place at Hogwarts this year.
Also the new defense against the dark arts professor: Mad eye Moody is introduced. -
The other wizarding schools competing in the tournament arrive
All of the Hogwarts students stand outside the school waiting for the students from other schools to arrive.The students from Beauxbatons arrive in a carriage pulled through the sky by flying horses.The Durmstrang Institute’s ship with the students appears in the Lake. -
The goblet of fire chooses the champions
After the Halloween feast is over, the venerable Goblet of Fire is brought forward. One by one, the names of the chosen champions fly out of the Goblet. They are Viktor Krum from Durmstrang, Fleur Delacour from Beauxbatons, Cedric Diggory from Hogwarts, and to everyone’s surprise, Harry Potter.
Harry was to young to compete and also the 2nd of what was supposed to be one champion from Hogwarts. Very few believed that Harry didn't put his name in the goblet of fire. -
The first task of three
The fist task is to steal a golden egg which contains a clue for the next task from the clutches of a dragon. Each contestants take turn in doing so and has different dragons. Harry summons his broom to help him get the egg from his dragon, a Hungarian Horntail, and he completes the task in the shortest amount of time.
After this Harry becomes friends with Ron again. -
The Yule Ball
All the students, including the visiting contingents from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, attend the Yule Ball as part of the Triwizard Tournament celebrations. Harry and Ron don’t have much fun – Harry spends the night jealous of Cedric, who brought Cho Chang, and Ron spends it jealous of Viktor Krum, who asked Hermione. -
Dobby the house-elf prepares Harry for the second task
Dobby wakes Harry up ten minutes before the second task, tells him that he will have to rescue Ron, and gives him Gillyweed, which he later eats to be able to breath under water.
Harry had fallen asleep in the library, where he was doing research trying to solve the riddle in the golden egg which he got from the first task. -
The second task of the triwizarding tournament
The second task is to rescue someone dear from the depds of the Hogwarts lake, where they are being held by the merpeople. Harry has to rescue Ron but decides to rescue Flours sister aswell since Flour never shows up. -
Barty Crouch senior is murdered
Barty Crouch senior is murdered on Hogwarts grounds by a mysterious man. Who later was reveled to be Barty Crouch Jr. -
The third and last task
The third task is a maze of 20 foot high hedges on the quidditch pitch, with the Triwizard cup placed in the center. The first to reach it will be the winner of the Triwizard tournament. Cedric and Harry reach the cup roughly at the same time. However it is a giant spider in Cedric`s path. Harry helps Cedric fight the spider and injures his leg in the prosess. After this they agree to grabbing the cup at the same time, which would result in split victory. -
The rebirth of Voldemort
Voldemort is restored to his body in an ancient ceremony, using amongst other things Harry`s or "his enemy`s" blood. After that the Death Eaters are called back to him and they gather and watch Voldemort and Harry then duel. Harry manages to escape with Cedric’s body by traveling back with the portkey. -
Harry and Cedric arrive in a graveyard
On the count of three, Cedric and Harry touch the Triwizard cup which should have ended the task, but instead the cup turns out to be a port key and transports them to a small graveyard miles away from Hogwarts.
When they arrive they are met by Wormtail and a weak Voldemort. When they see that two boys instead of just one, Harry, arrive with the portkey. Voldemort orders Wormtail to kill Cedric. -
The true identity of Mad eye moody is revealed part 1
When Harry returns to Hogwarts, Mad eye Moody takes him aside during all the chaos to ask him some questions about what happened. During the conversation Harry realizes that something is wrong, and just as Mad eye Moody is about to kill Harry in honor of Voldemort, Dumbledore and Snape bursts in and stuns Moody, who was actually Barty Crouch Jr. in disguise using polyjuice potion (a potion used to mimic someones looks). -
The Hogwarts Express
The books ends after Harry gives the money he won in the tournament to George and Fred Weasley. At first they refuse, but after Harry says he will throw the money away if they do not take it, they finally accept. -
The true identity of Mad eye moody is revealed pt. 2
It was also revealed that the reason why Harry ended up competing in, and winning the tournament was because of him. After that is revealed Barty Crouch jr.`s soul is destroyed by accident by a dementor. The person whom Brough the dementor inside Hogwarts :the minister of magic, see no great loss. However Dumbledore releases that they now have no other proof than Harry´s word that Voldemort has returned.
