Romantic Tutu

This dance was created to show off their skills to see who is best. The Nutcracker

Duncan's Philosophy
Duncan's Manifesto states that nature is the source of dance, and therefore rejects ballet. She believed that the steps were lackluster and the opposite of natural motion. The contraction is the foundation. It is, in Graham’s vision, the physical manifestation of grief that starts from the pelvis to the spine, looking like a howling stomach.
