made in 1862 and is a very important piece to Americans legislation which was signed by Abraham Lincoln but passed by a northern and 160 acres of land was wanted to be given away but it came with some rules first.
Can be at war against America, so no rebels (for example like southerners who where fighting against union solders)
You had to be at least 21 years of age to get that free land
Had to farm the 160 acres for 5 years than you get the home -
Significance of the Homestead Act of 1862
Again this allowed for the whites to control what areas the Native Americans where able to live in, by relocating them to areas where white settlers did not occupy. -

This was an American Oil Company formed by John D. Rockefeller and he had control over almost every oil production, marketing and transporting as well. -

The development in this company is the change in America's economy as this is now a new item in the marketing that brings fortune to Rockefeller himself. Also the development of this company will cause the bankruptcy of many other businesses due to Rockefeller himself. Also this company will begin to expand to many other areas such as Ohio, California and even Kansas. -
American Federation of Labor of 1886
This is an Organization founded in Columbus, Ohio in December of 1886 by crafts unions from the Knights of Labor. This organization consisted of only skilled workers who were lead by Samuel Gompers and wanted to work towards capitalism with better wages, hours and working conditions. -
Dawes Severalty Act of 1887
Was signed by president Grover Cleveland on January 8, 1887 which allowed the president to move or take Tribal Lands and relocate them to the West.
Native American couple the head of the house will be able to receive 160 acres, while a unmarried man who is over 18 would only get 80 acres.
The government held that allotment and trust for 25 years
Natives had only 4 years to chose land or it will be granted to them. -
Significance of Dawes Severalty Act of 1887
By creating this Act it allowed for the whites to forcibly make Natives to change their habitat in order to life a civilized life like the whites did. This meant that they had to eat, dress and do everything as a white fellow had done during that time period which also shows how desperate the Native Americans where to find homes and just live a normal life. This also allowed for the whites to have more control over what the Native Americans could or could not do since ma y of them needed homes. -

This women's organization was formed on February 18, 1890 where it demanded the increases in women's voting rights, which was lead by Elizabeth Cady Stanton. -

This organization is very important because It was formed off well educated women who knew the importance of Women having a voice and choice in society through voting rights. I think that by having this organization formed gave them power as well as acknowledgement for the demands they wanted.
