Vladek is introduced to Lucia Greenberg by his friend and they date for a while.

Vladek goes to Sosnowiec to visit his family in Dec. and while he is there his cousin introduces him to Anja.

Vladeck continunes to visit Anja in Sosnowiec and when he meets Anja's parents at their house, he finds pills in her closet. A friend told him that she has them because " she is so skinny and nervous".

Vladek and Anja get engaged by the end of 1936,get married soon after, and then moves to sosnowiec.

Anja's runs into her friend from warsaw a couple times. In there run-ins the friend gives Anja communist documents( that she translate into German and passes them on). On one account the police comes to Anja's house looking for them but she gave them to the streamstress to hide, who gets arrested for having the documents. Vladek was very upset about this situation, and made her stop helping her friend.

Anja has a break down one day and the doctors advise her to go to a sanitarium, and Vladek goes with her in. On there way there, the see the first Nazi flag and hears stories about jews in Germany.

Vladek's Factory gets robbed and he starts a new one up.

As World War 2 is coming near, counrties are rounding up people to send to war. Anja and Richeu move away to Sosnowiec to be safe,

After being drafted, Vladek is trained for a little and then soon sent into the frontier. While in the frontier, Vladek kills someone for the first time and there beginnings a shot out between the Nazi's and poles. The Nazi's win and Vladek is taken as a Prisoner of War.

While a prisoner still one night Vladek has a dream that his Grandfather is talking to him and tells him that he will be free during Parshas Truma.

Just like his grandfather told him in his dream, during Parsha Truma, Vladek was released from Prison and stopped in Lublin and taken in by Jewish Authorities. He then stays with Orbach, a family friend, for a little.

After staying with his family friend for a little,Vladek one decides to try to get on the train that goes to Sosnowiec. He does convince the trainman to let him on because he hids his identity. The trainman hides him in the train. He gets to Sosnowiec and goes to his parents house and his mom brings him to his home and reunites him with Anja and Richieu.

The S.S. took people from the streets who didn't have working papers.

vladek needed a work card just incase the S.S. came by and he also needed a job so he works as a tin man for his Father-in-laws friend.

"Aryan" mangers and German officals started talking away buissesses away from Jews and made them work certain jobs. For Vladek, they took away his textile factory and his in-laws factories.Jews had to create black markets to bring in extra money in order to survive. Vladek and his in-laws partcipated in these blackmarkets.

While Vladek was out going to see Ilzecki, he passed by a trainstation where the S.S were taking Jews whether you had papers or not and while he saw this he quickly ran to IIzecki and hid with him in his house untill the trains left.

The Germans ordered all jews to be moved to Stara Sosnowiec quarter by Jan 1st 1942. Vladek and his family( 12 people) had to move into a house with 2 1/2 rooms.

When Vladek went to the black market one day he found out that his friends was arrested for trading goods without coupons. The next day his friends were hung in the street for every jew to see. The Germans wanted them to be an example of what would happen to jews if they continued this.

The Nazi's made all the older people move to Thersienstadt, it was suppose to be a home for them but Vladek's family knew it there was something suspicious about it. They hid Anja's Grandparents for weeks but the police threatened them so they were forced to bring them to the police where they sent to Auschwitz and gassed.

All jews had to go to Dienst Stadium to get their papers stamped.Many Jews thought it was a Nazi trap but either way if they did or didn't go something would happen to them. Everyone where Old, had families with lots of Kids and people without working papers and put them in apartment houses and many died their. Vladek and his family get their papers stamp but this father and sister were taken away.

After the what happened in the stadium all jews were ordered to move to a Ghetto, Srodula where they had an even smaller house.

After being moved into a Ghetto everyday Jews were to work in German shops everyday and had to march an hour and half to Sosnowiec to work. Vladek worked in the woodwork shop.

Vladek's friend offered to take Richieu and a couple of other kids and family members to Zawiercie to keep him safe.

The Nazi's took everyone from kids to adults

The Nazi's decided to finish off the Jews in the ghetto Zawiercie, where Vladek's son, Richieu and his family were. Tosha killed herself and the kids with poison so none of them would have to go through the gas chambers.

The Nazi's started just grabbing anyone who were Jewish so Vladek and his family decided to create a bunker to hide in everytime the Nazi's came around.

At the end of July while Vladek's family was hiding, a stranger came pretending to be someone just lloking for food but it was really an informer and the informer told the Gestapo where they are hiding. Vladek's family was sent to a ghetto inside a ghetto.

Vladek starts see to that every day that the guards come by and grab about to 200 people to bring to Auschwitz, he needs to find a way out for him and his family. He see's his cousin, Jakov and they give him expensive Jewelry in exchange for hiding them in pails. Anja's parents are too old so they wouldn't by able to pass the guards. So they don't bring them along.

Anja and Vladek left the Ghetto after it was empty not knowing where to go but knew that they had to disguises as poles

By the end of 1943, more and more jews were being sent to Auschwitz. Every wednesday Jews were sent to Aushwitz. Vladek and Haskel, his cousin hid in a a pile of shoes that lead to a bunker that Vladek and Anja hid in untill the ghetto was empty.

After Anja and Vladek go into hiding in Sosnowiec where there Janitors lives and hides in shed for a couple days.

Vladek and Anja go into hiding in Ms. Kawk's barn after someone suggest they can if they pay.

While living in Ms.Kawka's Barn, Vladek would often trade with a pole to get food for him and Anja. The pole, Mrs.Motonowa, and Vladek become friends and Mrs.Motonowa offered to take Vladek and Anja in while her husband was away.

After getting word that he can escape Poland. Vladek and Anja agree with two smugglers to smuggle them to Hungary. When they got on the train they didn't make it to Hungary, the smugglers turn them in and they were sent to Auschwitz.

Once Vladek and Anja enter Auschwitz they are seperated and Vladek gets numbered 175113. After getting seperated Vladek meets a prisest who later tells him that he will survive everything based off of the numbers he has on his arm.

Vladek teaches his supervisor english and soon the supervisor becomes a little more nicer with Vladek because of this.

Mancie a Hungarian kept Vladek and Anja in contact with eachother by passing messages a long for them. She also help Anja survive the camp

The war was ending

Vladek gets an hand infection and since he heard that people are treated a lot better in the infirmiries he attempts to make the infection worse so he could stay their but that plan back fires when doctor opened up the wound.

Vladek meets a French men who doesn't know polish but they both know english and they befriend each other,

After making sure that he would find ways to stay health he is unsuccesful and after a few weeks he gets typhus

After traveling from Dachau, minutes after Vladek and others hear the news that the war is over!

Dachau is a part of Germany that had a concentration camp located there.

After escaping the Guards and going into hiding for a little, the american soliders find Vladek and his friend in hiding in a barn. They let them stay there for a while and through that Vladek and his friend worked for them for a little in exchange for some food and gifts.

Vladek and his friend Shivek, go to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and got identity papers and a place to stay.

After so much time apart both anja and vladek look for eachoter and vladek finds anja in Sosnewic.

Germany surrends, losing the 4 year battle

After getting visas with the help of Uncle Herman, Vladeck and his family leaving Sweden to go to U.S.

Vladek dies of congestive heart failure on August 18th 1982.
