Attack of Manchuria
The Japenese buisineses were heavely invested in Manchuria. The area was rich in natural resources and despite the objections from the Japanese government the Japanese Army took over Manchuria and set up a puppet government. -
Kristallnacht
On November 9th 1938 Nazi soldiers stormed Jewish neighborhoods and destroyed Jewish homes and buissnesses. Many Jews were killed in the raid and broken glass littered the streets which is why this event is called Kristallnacht which means broken glass. -
Invasion of Poland
On dawn of September 1st 1939 German Plans took to the sky to bomb Poland. Next tanks rolled into the Polish territory along with 1.5 million German soldiers. Germany took over Poland easily and had started WW2. -
Soviet Union invades Eastern Poland
On September 17th 1939 Stalin held up his end of his and Hitler's secret agreement and sent Soviet troops to occupy Eastern Poland. Next he took over other countries with ease, however Finland fought back and through the winter they were winning however they were forced to surrender due to the Soviets massive numbers -
France Surrenders
They French troops and the other ally troops were pinned by the Germans in Dunkirk however they managed to pull off a massive boat retreat and got away from the German forces. On June 10th Italy joined in against France and by the 22nd France was under Nazi control. -
Pearl Harbor
The Japanese sent in planes and boats to destroy Pearl Harbor and to destroy Americas Navy. It was a surprise attack and it was fairly successful in the eyes of the Japanese as they destroyed comunication, knocked over and blew up the Navy's resources in the area and destroyed many of the USA's boats and planes in the Pacific. -
Lend Lease Act
This act allowed trade between countries involved in WW2 and the United states. The USA would trade and lend weapons to those on the side of the allies -

Atlantic Charter
The Atlantic Charter was made during a secret meeting between Churchill and Roosevelt, the Charter allowed trade among nations and the right for people to chose their own sides either for or against the government. It would later serve as the peace plan for WW2 -
Battle of Midway
The Japanese planed to take out Midway Island an island west of Japan. Midway island was home to A massive and important airfield. Luckly a Japanese code was broken and America knew they were coming. The Army General planed very well and they were able to destroy the Japanese and turn the tides of the war in the Pacific -
German invasion of Soviet union
Despite their original agreements Hitler eventually tried to invade the Soviet Union. The Germans were not making much progress in taking over parts of the Soviet union as they underestimated the Russian winters. Hitler ended up sending in planes every night to bomb the cities that he wanted such as Cacusus Mountains which held many resources and were very industrial cities. -
Alliance with Italy and Germany
Japan bacame allies with Germany and Italy this treatry and alliance became known as the Tripartite act which was known as the Axis Alliance. Germany wanted to be allies with Japan so they could have a connection in the east and near the Pacific Ocean -
Allied invasion of Italy
After a meeting in Morocco Churchilland Roosevelt decided to attack Italy before trying to recapture France. on July 10th 180,000 soldiers invaded from sicily the allies had reclaimed Italy by August. -
D-Day
The ally forces fought their way onto a 60 mile stretch of beach in Normandy. D-day is the greatest land and sea invasion ever as the Germans were bunkered down on the beach with a vast amount of weaponry and had concrete walls three feet thick protecting them, the beach was complete chaos many died that day but the allies eventually won. -
Nuremberg Trials and laws
Many Nazi leaders and officials were put on trial for what the had done, all were convicted. and new laws were made that restricted the countries responsible for WW2 from having large millitaries and other things that may enable them to statr more wars. -
Germany surrenders
After the Battle of Bulge the war in Europe was preety much over the allies closed in on Germany and its capital and by April 1945 Germany had unconditionally surrendered. Hitler and his wife killed themselves this was the official signal that the third reich had surreneder -
Bombing of Hiroshima
The USA dropped an atomic bomb on the densely populated city of Hiroshima. Hundreds of thousands were killed from the bomb. These bombings were one of the main reasons that Japan was forced to surender. -
Bombing of Nagasaki
This was the first time an atomic bomb was used and it killed many people upon explosion and many more died from the radiation. The entire city was flattened and Japan surendered -
Japanese surrender
The Japanese surrendered on september 2nd to General Douglas Mac Arthur aboard the united states battleship Missouri in Tokyo Bay. This meant the war was finally over all that was left was to rebuild. -
Japanese Internment
The Japanese were forced to demilitarize and they were left with a destroyed Country after the allied bombings of their country, including their capital Tokyo. There was US occupation in Japan after the war and their ruler was reduced to a constitutional monarch. In the USA however Japanese people were despised for what they had done during WW2 and they were put in camps.
