At home, women's quarters were separate from the public rooms where the men had visitors. Islamic law permitted, however, that women could retain property after marriage and appear in court cases.

Social Structures: Like before, basically the same social structure as everywhere else, male dominated with a large peasant class. -
Babur, the founder of Mughal, defeated the last sultan of Delhi in 1526. He was a descendent of Ghengis Khan by marriage and his followers were Turkish and Mongolian. All but the southern tip of India eventually came under Mughal rule. Peasant rebellions, neglect and foreign invaders led to the fall of the Mughal Empire.
