  • Plessy v Ferguson

    Plessy v Ferguson was a court case that was arguing separate but equal which was arguing that segregation was okay because people were in separate facilities yet had equal access to food and water etc however Plessy was arguing this violated one of the amendments.
  • The lynching of Jesse Washington

    The lynching of Jesse Washington was a crucial event in history when he was brutally lynched this was a major event with many people in attendance and people kept his body parts , this event was good for America because it raised awareness on lynching which would eventually come to stop in the US
  • The executive order do 9981

    President Truman signed the executive order to desegregate the US military and established the presidents committee on equality. This event was very important for the US and desegregation because people would see equality in the army and would want to be the same in the US
  • Brown vs board education

    Brown vs Board education was a Supreme Court case that was trying to rule out segregation in schools for kids to be in the same schools and no longer be in segregated schools, this was a big part of ending segregation in the Us to this day schools are still desegregated by gender.
  • Rosa parks not giving up her seat

    Rosa parks didn’t give up her seat on the the Montgomery bus to a white man and she was arrested for not giving up her seat on the front of the bus this then led to the bus boycott.
  • Montgomery Bus Boycott

    The Montgomery bus boycott was a major social movement in American history this was a movement where black people refused to ride the buses in Alabama and protested against segregation.
  • Freedom riders

    The freedom riders were black and white that were against segregation terminals that would travel through the south of the Us the group would try to only use white things later on the freedom riders were confronted and the first bus that went into Alabama got bombed
  • March on Birmingham

    Children's March leading to arrests national tv , magazine coverage and ultimately a negotiated settlement though followed by rioting and protests , this march was an attempt to desegregate Birmingham which was a segregated city at the time and this march was led by MLK
  • MLK death

    Martin Luther king was an African American male who was the main man in the civil rights movement he was shot at age 39 because of who he was. He was on a balcony at the lorraine motel when he was shot in the back by a sniper at 6:01 and was rushed to St‘Joseph’s hospital where he was later pronounced dead. This was a major event in US history.
  • George Floyd/ BLM movement

    George Floyd was an African male that bought cigarettes with fake money and the clerk called the police and when the cops they pulled a gun on him he cooperated at first but was scared about getting in the car because he was claustrophobic the officers put him on the ground and put his knee on Floyd’s neck and was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead and was a powerful movement
