The Wright brothers first flight
On December 17, 1903, Orville Wright piloted the first powered airplane 20 feet above a wind-swept beach in North Carolina. The flight lasted 12 seconds and covered 120 feet. Three more flights were made that day with Orville's brother Wilbur piloting the record flight lasting 59 seconds over a distance of 852 feet. -

In most states, teacher certification could be obtained in a 2-year normal school certificate. By the postwar era, teaching certification had become a 4-year program. The degree usually included courses for elementary school teachers in art and music education, and the texts used in these courses were Lowenfeld's Creative and MentalGrowth and D'mico's Creative Teaching of Art. -

Three Mile Island nuclear accident
Three Mile IslandIn 1979 at Three Mile Island nuclear power plant in USA, a cooling malfunction caused part of the core to melt in the # 2 reactor. The TMI-2 reactor was destroyed.
Some radioactive gas was released a couple of days after the accident, but not enough to cause any dose above background levels to local residents. -
