The Odyssey had laid the groundwork for many new consoles to come, as it was a unique way to play games from the comfort of your room, while blending ideas from games played in real life. Though not considered commercially successful the odyssey managed to sell 350,000 units from 1972-1975. -

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), had seen a new breakthrough in consoles as it ushered players into the next generation of gaming through innovations in advanced graphics, and sound capabilities compared to other popular gaming systems at the time, such as the ‘Saga Genesis.’ The SNES managed to sell 49.10 million units worldwide. -
N64
The N64 was released as the successor to the ‘SNES’ and had a new 64-bit CPU, which aided in its 3D capabilities which separated it from other consoles like Sony’s ‘Playstation.’ Though not as globally successful as its predecessor it still managed to sell 32.93 Million Units worldwide.
